As many of you may know if you visit the main site, we are holding our very first Doctor Who Awards, and we want you to get involved. Below is information about the catagories and how to put forward your votes.

What we are doing?
On September 15th 2010 we will be holding The First Annual TARDIS Spoilers Doctor Who Awards. This is mainly just for fun, but it is great to get all the readers involved, and because the winners of each catagory will be chosen and voted for by you, it is your chance to make your winners shine. Who needs a BAFTA, when you have one of our awards?

The Awards
There are 11 basic catagories to vote in. Some of these have been split into sections between New Series and Classic Series as some people felt that the new series was at an unfair advantage and it gives the chance for people who are specifically Old/New fans to have their say and get the results they want.

The catagories are:

Best Doctor (New)
Best Doctor (Classic)
Best Companion (New)
Best Companion (Classic)
Best Story (New)
Best Story (Classic)
Best Guest/Recurring Character
Best Villain
Best Spinoff
Best Audio Story
Best Book (Fiction/Non Ficton)

We have had over a hundred responses so far through the main site, but we still want more. Voting will close on September 13th and you can vote by either emailing your choices to

thedoctorinthetardis @ hotmail.co.uk

or by sending your choices to me via the message option on the forum.

The winners will be announced in the this section and on the main site, though members of the forum will also have the added bonus of finding out who took the silver and the bronze in each award. Don't waste time, get those votes in now, and if you have any questions, ask away below.

Secretly I'm hoping to influence the voting in respect of the best classic series companion.... ;)

Well Sarah Jane has her own mini series - what more does she want? Jo Grant now lives in Australia (she was my second choice incidentally) and Leela went on Eastenders and should be disqualified.

People, pay no attention to the Adric obsessive and dont listen to his put downs of others. Dont let the Cult Of Adric infect your brains :D :P

I feel like Davina :)

The votes have been counted and verified and the awards will be taking place tomorrow. In the meantime, now that votes can no longer be influenced, why not let us all know who you would like to see win in each catagory :D

The awards will be announced from 7pm tomorrow, with an overall update on the main site from 8pm.

I don't mind who wins what as long as Donna gets best companion. She's the most deserving

She can't win - if old 'The Doc' turns up to give her the award her head will explode. I wouldn't want that to happen! (P.S. I love Donna Noble and she was probably my favourite NuWho companion - she just didn't have a badge or indeed any sort of certificate for mathematical excellence).

Well we all know that anyone without a badge is hardly worth acknowledging :P

Make loads of posts, grab some champers and enjoy the evening :D

They will be a little earlier this year because of the split series. Finer details are being worked on

Pretty much. The awards are going to be much bigger with a lot more catagories to vote in. Because of the split in the series they will be a bit earlier than they were last year, but only by a month or so and the ways that people can vote will be updated. In terms of awards for the new series, it will benefit from double the chances of winning because the second half of the series will probably be included in next years awards because of schedules, but that is subject to change. Plans are being made though and an announcement will be coming soon, so everyone get their thinking caps on and pay close attention to the upcoming episodes :)

Awesome stuff. I don't think you should bother waiting for the second half of the series to air. Just add them on to the next one as you said :)
