Title: Reinette and the Doctor

I know that Moffat likes a love story and I do really, really like this episode, but I just don't buy the love side of things, particularly on the Doctors part. Infatuation maybe, or lust even, but I wouldn't call it love (as Moffat has on commentaries/interviews etc). It also sort of brings into question how genuine his feelings for Rose are meant to be that after knowing a woman for an hour he is suddenly chasing her through time and giving up the TARDIS and his friends to save and be with her.

Throughout a lot of stories we see the Doctor have a flicker of something with certain people he encounters like Jabe, Lynda or Agatha for example, but the whole thing with Reinette was a whole other level. It all felt very out of character and he seemed overly taken with her for no apparant reason. I love the story but that aspect of it doesn't really fit in with his character or the season as a whole.

I sort of agree, but on the other side, it's obvious from his reaction that he's been fascinated by her long before he met her.  It does still seem rather quick, though.
