Close Encounters of the Third Kind and The Goodbye Girl When I went to see Close Encounters, I made the mistake of going in the afternoon in the school holidays, and the place was full of kids running around yelling. There are famous scenes from it that I'm familiar with but I don't think I've ever sat and watched from beginning to end. I thought she was mid 30s when the show began.
