On some days, New York is one of the most beautiful places on Earth.
This was one of the other days…

Melody Malone, owner and sole employee of the Angel Detective Agency, has an unexpected caller.

It’s movie star Rock Railton, and he thinks someone is out to kill him. When he mentions the ‘kiss of the Angel’, she takes the case. Angels are Melody’s business…

At the press party for Railton’s latest movie, studio owner Max Kliener invites Melody to the film set of their next blockbuster. He’s obviously spotted her potential, and Melody is flattered when Kliener asks her to become a star. But the cost of fame, she’ll soon discover, is greater than anyone could possibly imagine. Will Melody be able to escape Kliener’s dastardly plan – before the Angels take Manhattan?

This one has had a mention in the episode thread.

I believe it is out tomorrow & is reportedly only going to be available as an e-book.

It said on the website Kindle only, but I couldn't find a date so I left it off. I'm going to see if I can get a copy. I don't have a Kindle but will read on the laptop.

Well that's great for those of us who have e-readers that aren't Kindles!  ::)

Just done a bit of digging & found out that is being released in Epub format as well as in Kindle format - meaning people who have non-Kindle e-readers can get it too.

You can pre-order the Kindle version from Amazon now or the Epub format from Random House, or it will be generally available from all good e-book retailers from tomorrow  :)

I hope if it sells well enough that they'll release it as an actual copy, as I'd like to have it on my shelf as well as the computer (plus, nothing really beats the smell of books)

I just want the cover. The story will no doubt be cool, but not as cool as that cover!

So I've just finished reading this one in the Summer Falls and other Stories book, and all I will say is that so far I am totally unimpressed by this book!

The Angel's Kiss was far worse than Summer Falls. It was so so so short, had no real plot to it and I have no idea how on earth the story ended! It just all seemed fine and happy at the start of the next chapter. Also it has an Angel in it. But I think it was quite bad - I was imagining a weeping angel, but I don't think it was - and I have no idea what role the angel actually played.

All in all, the book was such a disappointment. It was no at all gripping, nor was it a book that I think I am likely to want to go back and read again.

Has anyone else read this one?
