Title: The 50th Anniversary
Post by: Exterminate on December 28, 2012, 02:58:26 pm
When it comes to the 50th anniversary, how fanwanky and self referential do you think it should be?

I've gone with option two. I want canon and coherence to go out the window (just this once) and I want the kitchen sink in there. I want to see the Zygons teaming up with the Drahvins on Skaro against Morbius while Adric and Zoe work together with the Eighth Doctor to take on on Zarbi in Perivale, Rose and Harry fighting the Wirrn in Sarah Jane's attic and the Torchwood team partnering UNIT and the Sixth Doctor to tackle the Rani. I don't want a standard episode. I want there to be as much nonsense from the last 50 years as possible. I will overlook anything that's wrong, just give it all to me in one episode and then go back to normal in the next.

That is exactly the type of story I want to see. Just with a few more Doctors, companions and villians. I've voted to throw everything in. This is the one time they can get away with it.

I couldn't agree more. I want a bit of everything thrown in from throughout the history of the show. In fact I think I would be a bit disapointed if it was just a basic style story. I know it will be great either way, but I think it's also going to be the last justifiable reason to get many past actors back onto the show so I want them to grab the chance with both hands.

I'm with the majority. Throw it all in and have a whofest!

Me too. I want as much stuff in there as they can fit into the timeslot.

I don't care about the story or really even the villains. They can return at any time. I just want to see loads of companions and Doctors.

Well, I've accidentally voted for number three, but I was going for two. As many Doctors and companions as the story can hold!

I agree with most of you in that I want as much nonsense in there as possible.  But if I don't get to see Eleven, Jack and River in the same room at some point in that episode I am going to be very sad indeed.

I say throw it all in, but I will be happy if we get Jo, Martha, Ace and Ian plus all the remaining Doctors. Everything else will be a bonus.

I don't care if it's good, I just want everything in it. When it comes down to thinking 'that was good, but it was only the Doctor and Clara' or 'That was a bit rubbish, but at least I got to see X, Y and Z again', then I will go for the latter. It's pretty much the last chance we will have to get it them all together again and already there are too many who won't be there to take part. I don't want to lose any more before they get one more chance on the show.

I want it to be an absolute jumble sale of Doctor Who-ness where everything is thrown on the table and nothing makes sense, but it somehow works. I won't be happy with a standard story. I want as much as humanly possible thrown in.

I'm with everyone else. Throw everything in. I don't even care about plot, I just want to see them all on screen together again.
