This weeks classic story is the season 26 serial, Ghost Light.

London 1983: an old house mysteriously burns to the ground. One hundred years earlier, the Seventh Doctor and Ace arrive at a sinister mansion in the rural hamlet of Perivale. Horrors old and new await the Doctor amongst the peculiar residents of Gabriel Chase, but it is Ace who must confront her own worst nightmares when she discovers that her past and the house's future are inextricably linked....

Ghost Light was the second story in Season 26 of Doctor Who. Although two stories followed its broadcast, it was the last story of the classic series to be produced and the last to feature significant recording at BBC Television Centre.

The next classic story will be posted on Sunday September 1st.

I only watched this a couple of weeks ago.  I'll watch it again, though, rather than do it from memory.

It's been a while since I've given out full marks, but this story more than deserves it.

There is a common thought that anything from the 80's, especially the latter half, is generally pretty weak and rubbish, but the truth is that there are some amazing stories nestled in there and this is one of them. Everything about this story from the plot to the characters and the sets just falls together to give us something brilliant.

4/5 from me. I really like this and it was part of a hell of a strong season, but in comparison to the stories it was shown alongside, I find this one to be a teeny bit weaker and thought the others more deserving of a five.

OK, it's confusing and non-linear, but who cares?  It's brilliant.  Five from me.

Full marks. Great, somewhat confusing story, that all comes together nicely with some great acting/characters, awesome sets and a cool ending.

Shouldn't that be a wicked ending?  8)

Marc Platt is a writer made for Doctor Who. He understands about plot and characters and always has a deep core to his stories. Ghostlight is a fantastic story that works on so many levels. It delves deep into what it is to belong somewhere and the need to confront and avoid ones ghosts. It gives the Doctor a look at the wrong end of other people's secrets. Most of all, it is a story that one can go back to time and again to find something different.

A wonderful 5/5 for one of the most daring and experimental stories of the 80s.

4/5. Nearly perfect but the confusing plot detracts rather tha makes you want to keep te watching until you get it, I think. Otherwise I think it's very decent

As of next week, TIQ will be running from Wednesdays and so this story will not be updated on Sunday, but instead run for an extra three days. Every story after that point will run for one week again.

2/5 from me. Some bits were enjoyable and some of the dialogue was fun, but for the most part I had no idea what the hell was happening.

Same score, same thoughts.
