The Eleventh Doctor was the eleventh incarnation of the renegade Time Lord known as the Doctor. Although he was very alien compared to his previous incarnation, he retained his vigour for defending the Universe. He eventually married River Song, making him the son-in-law of companions Amy Pond and Rory Williams. During the course of his adventures, he thwarted the numerous attempts on his life by the Silence to prevent him from answering the Question, succeeding in making them think he was dead at the cost of his wife being falsly imprisoned.

He absolutely made this episode for me. His lines were great and he performed them brilliantly. There wasn't a lot else I liked in the episode, but Matt was awesome.

The performance was great, I agree, but I did find it rather ridiculous that he doesn't have a clue about human interaction.  I don't think he ever tried to air-kiss the Brig.

That bit stuck out to me as well. Obviously he is alien, but it was as though he'd never been to Earth or interacted with humans before. It started to cross the line into stupidity a bit.

He was played absolutely brilliantly, but some of the writing was a bit silly.

Matt did a great job of acting what was in the script, but unfortunately they had him acting like a bit of a numpty for a lot of it. Sometimes it was funny, but mostly I found it to be a bit cringeworthy. They tried so hard to go for laughs that they totally forgot the character.
