Title: Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on August 31, 2010, 09:05:54 am (http://thetorchonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/being_human_menu.jpg) Thought I'd start this one too because I know some of my fellow Who fans also love this show (and hey all but one of the main cast have been in DW - can we start a campaign to get Aidan in it too?!) So a vampire, a werewolf & a ghost all decide to share a house together ... When I heard this I thought it was a joke but ... this is one of my favourite shows - great characters, gorgeous actors (and they are good people too - follow or talk to them on Twitter and you'll see), gripping storylines, some of the best one liners around, and it can also be very funny and moving - more than once I've truly cried. If you haven't caught it yet - please try to - it really is a gem. I'm not a truly wordy person so I'll sum up my feelings about it simply like this: I LOVE BEING HUMAN!!! Please feel free to share your BH love below - oh and quote away. Here's one to get you started: "Did you just call me 'deadly furniture?'" Mitchell (vamp) to George (werewolf) Oh & PS Aidan Turner is squee :P Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: chrissymarieb on August 31, 2010, 11:21:50 am I also really like Being Human. It is so well written and you are right - they have some great one liners!
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: sleekituk on August 31, 2010, 10:04:30 pm I think it's THE best new show of recent years, it's real can't miss television for me! I'd advise any one who hasn't watched to watch all including the pilot before the next series broadcasts. I'd also like to add I think the recasting from the pilot were excellent choices :D
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: The Doc on August 31, 2010, 10:26:53 pm I keep meaning to get into this show, but for some reason never have. I saw one episode and thought it was great, but since and before then I always seemed to miss it
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on August 31, 2010, 10:44:36 pm I keep meaning to get into this show, but for some reason never have. I saw one episode and thought it was great, but since and before then I always seemed to miss it If you get the chance do watch it. Curious as well - can you remember anything about the ep you saw? Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: The Doc on August 31, 2010, 10:46:08 pm It seemed to be centred on the vampire. I dont remember much about it. There was a girl in a pub. And I think someone came to the view their house or something?
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: sleekituk on August 31, 2010, 10:47:13 pm I would so like to be centred on the vampire fnargh!
walks out of thread quietly whistling ;D Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on August 31, 2010, 10:58:13 pm It seemed to be centred on the vampire. I dont remember much about it. Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on August 31, 2010, 10:58:55 pm I would so like to be centred on the vampire fnargh! Yep me too :P Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: The Doc on August 31, 2010, 11:02:03 pm With the risk of a battering in mind, can I just say the vampire guy is totally fugly!!
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: sleekituk on August 31, 2010, 11:06:17 pm You can say it, but it's not an opinion I have ever read before, and the accent! *drools*
Also he's a vampire = win Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on August 31, 2010, 11:10:17 pm With the risk of a battering in mind, can I just say the vampire guy is totally fugly!! He may be a little 'dirty' but that isn't always a bad thing! Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: BlueRose on September 01, 2010, 03:16:50 pm I've yet to see it or Sherlock, but keep in mind I'm now finally on S2 of Supernatural. I am INFAMOUS for jumping onto shows either very late or too late (after they've gone off the air).
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on September 02, 2010, 02:04:11 pm I've yet to see it or Sherlock, but keep in mind I'm now finally on S2 of Supernatural. I am INFAMOUS for jumping onto shows either very late or too late (after they've gone off the air). Yeah I'm exactly the same - it's a very rare thing for me to be with a show from the outset - always just a step behind the times. Often I watch off of other peeps recommendations. Once I start on something though I'll try to catch up as quick as I can. Hope you get to see this at some point :) Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: chrissymarieb on September 02, 2010, 02:13:52 pm I've yet to see it or Sherlock, but keep in mind I'm now finally on S2 of Supernatural. Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: The Doc on September 02, 2010, 02:35:46 pm Yea I am the same. Only got the BSG finale about a month ago. Didnt start watching it until a few months back. Gutted I missed it when it was new on TV
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Sandiwich11 on September 02, 2010, 02:42:09 pm I saw the pilot when it first aired and didn't think much of it so gave series one a miss without realising that they had recast two of the characters and changed things slightly. Then I caught a random episode of S2 and have become completely hooked ever since.

Looks like the whole crew are going to be on Twitter soon, now if only Aidan Turner, Lenora Crichlow & Toby Whithouse would join!!! ;) Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on October 31, 2010, 10:57:30 pm For any UK peeps who haven't watched this yet but are interested in giving it a go - BBC3 are showing the first 2 episodes from half past midnight tonight - bit late I know but iplayer will probably get it or it could be recorded :)
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: TheDoctorDonna on December 26, 2010, 10:32:33 am I got this for Christmas. Only watched the first 3 episodes so far but I absolutely love it. They managed to get the casting spot on and the stories so far are really good. I don't want to rush through it though so will probably pace myself with the rest, but well worth watching. Not sure why I left it so long
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Roranicus on December 26, 2010, 12:12:13 pm I love this show. Dreading the US remake but will no doubt tune in for a look. Just to hate it for a reason :P
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Peri-Peri on December 26, 2010, 01:01:30 pm I was a bit late coming to this show but I really like it. Lacey Turner has signed up for series 3 and she is always good.
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Exterminate on December 29, 2010, 03:46:24 pm I went and picked up series 1 and two today to see if its any good. Got them for ten quid each which aint too bad.
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: thefifthdoctor on January 01, 2011, 07:56:00 pm Really enjoyed a lot of series 1, but drifted away after a couple eps of series 2.
My only real gripe (other than a watered down US remake - urgh!) was with all the (IMO) unnecessary male nudity. It didn't add to the story or anything, so presumably it was thrown in for the ladies? Either that or it was just to push the limits of what they could get away with in the timeslot? Address the balance in s3 & I'll be happy LOL ;D The s1 finale was cracking, best werewolf FX since Dog Soldiers, I reckon. Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Exterminate on January 02, 2011, 01:29:55 am Ive really enjoyed it so far. Annie making tea all the time cracks me up. I saw pictures today from the American remake. The characters just don't look right for some reason
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: thefifthdoctor on January 02, 2011, 11:08:55 am I saw pictures today from the American remake. The characters just don't look right for some reason Know exactly what you mean. I'm quite biased though, as I really think Sam Witwer is a dreadful actor. He's fine for a game like Star Wars TFU, but when he tries to properly act, like Smallville or BSG, it's just terrible. One saving grace is the excellent Mark Pelligrino playing Bishop - he was just awesome as Lucifer in Supernatural. I don't know much of the other 2 actors, but it just doesn't look right. Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: The Doc on January 02, 2011, 11:53:26 am Mark Pelligrino was the one who played Jacob in Lost too, right?
I agree with you both too. The pictures just don't seem right. I don't even get why they are remaking it. The original is a big success in the US. Big enough to get the cast invites to San Diego Comic Con, so instead of keeping the show a success they decide to remake it. Remakes almost always bomb and in turn it will no doubt have a detrimental effect on the viewership of the original show. Coincidently, The trailers for the remakes of Skins and Shameless are on youtube now and they both look a bit naff too, though they have at least kept the names and stayed faithful to the originals enough that they may work. Guess we will just have to wait and see with Being Human Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: thefifthdoctor on January 02, 2011, 03:37:02 pm Mark Pelligrino was the one who played Jacob in Lost too, right? I was never into Lost, but I believe so, yeah. Really great actor. Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Sandiwich11 on January 03, 2011, 01:35:19 am Here's a link (http://www.spoilertv.com/2011/01/being-human-uk-season-3-full-trailer.html) to the S3 trailer that was on the Beeb tonight.
So can't wait for this to start; with no Who, Merlin or Misfits my life feels a bit empty at the moment :P Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: chrissymarieb on January 03, 2011, 01:50:16 pm Mark Pelligrino was the one who played Jacob in Lost too, right? I was never into Lost, but I believe so, yeah. Really great actor. Yes - he is the same actor who played Jacob. Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Exterminate on January 03, 2011, 03:42:18 pm The trailer doesnt work :(
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Sandiwich11 on January 03, 2011, 04:53:39 pm It's been put on YT now, here you go :D

I do think the BBC can put out brilliant trailers when they want to, this is definitely up there. Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: The Doc on January 03, 2011, 11:08:37 pm It really is a great trailer. Annie looks really different though. Shorter hair and now wearing jeans. At least it looked like she was wearing jeans
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Roranicus on January 04, 2011, 06:17:58 pm I thought she couldnt change her clothes?
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on January 04, 2011, 06:35:47 pm Maybe different rules apply now she's on the other side ???
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Oh-Wise-One on January 04, 2011, 11:21:53 pm It could just be for the promo. Nothing from that looked to be a scene from the actual show, so her clothes and hair might be back to normal in the show itself
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: thefifthdoctor on January 05, 2011, 11:24:38 pm I loved the "wolfing out" reflections at the meat counter the best, those were terrific!
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Exterminate on January 05, 2011, 11:57:30 pm It really is a great trailer.
Is there a specific start date yet? Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Sandiwich11 on January 06, 2011, 02:03:32 am No start date yet :( It started on 10th Jan last year thou so I'm hoping it will round the 16th or 23rd maybe....
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: TheDoctorDonna on January 06, 2011, 06:12:35 pm Well I have watched the whole of the first two series now and I absolutely love it. I don't know why I waited so long to watch it but I'm glad I finally got caught up. Can't wait for series 3 to start now and I really hope it gets renewed beyond that
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Peri-Peri on January 06, 2011, 11:48:24 pm BBC has a habit of running these types of shows for three series usually. They do the same with their comedies too. I'd like to think it could go on for at least another 2 or three though. There's loads of potential stories they could cover.
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Sandiwich11 on January 07, 2011, 02:10:05 am I started a rewatch with Rosalind today, managed to get through half of series 1 before we realised it was 2am :o I'd forgotten how much I liked Gilbert, and we wondered if we would get to see him again since Annie is on the other side.
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on January 07, 2011, 11:34:22 pm I started a rewatch with Rosalind today, managed to get through half of series 1 before we realised it was 2am :o I'd forgotten how much I liked Gilbert, and we wondered if we would get to see him again since Annie is on the other side. I've wondered if we could see a return of Gilbert too. He was a fab character & though I loved how his story played out I wished he could've stayed longer. *makes wish for more Gilbert Fun* :) Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: TheDoctorDonna on January 09, 2011, 04:42:51 pm I heard today that its starting on the 23rd. Is that right?
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Sandiwich11 on January 09, 2011, 05:21:03 pm I've been banding around the 23rd as a likely start date for the last week, afaik the press release yesterday has it down for one day in week 4 (22nd - 28th). Not long now ;D
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Aneurin on January 09, 2011, 10:34:25 pm The BBC website is still saying 'There are no upcoming episodes of this show' :(

Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Exterminate on January 14, 2011, 07:47:42 pm They seemed to have stepped up the adverts since the release was announced. Must have seen it 50 times in the last 3 days.
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: chrissymarieb on January 14, 2011, 09:12:02 pm And of course, it is not playing any time soon on BBC America. But, the US version starts on SyFy on the 17th. I don't, however, have high expectations for it. But, maybe it will surprise me.
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Oh-Wise-One on January 14, 2011, 11:18:09 pm And of course, it is not playing any time soon on BBC America. But, the US version starts on SyFy on the 17th. I don't, however, have high expectations for it. But, maybe it will surprise me. I wouldn't hold my breath for it being any good. Americans make some excellent shows in general, but whenever they try to remake a popular British show its like they don't know their arse from their elbow Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Oh-Wise-One on January 14, 2011, 11:23:27 pm Saying that though, I heard the Shameless remake that aired last week went down very well so you never know...?

It will be interesting to see how it does Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Peri-Peri on January 16, 2011, 11:24:23 pm Saying that though, I heard the Shameless remake that aired last week went down very well so you never know...? Not sure when they'll series 3 of the original version. Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Peri-Peri on January 16, 2011, 11:37:03 pm Oh I didnt realise it was tomorrow. I will have to get a download of that then to see how it shapes up. Like most people in here though I don't hold out a huge amount of hope that it will be very good
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on January 16, 2011, 11:48:52 pm Oh I didnt realise it was tomorrow. I will have to get a download of that then to see how it shapes up. Like most people in here though I don't hold out a huge amount of hope that it will be very good I don't either but I'll give it a look if it ever airs over here - curiosity & all that! Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Sandiwich11 on January 17, 2011, 02:14:39 am I've seen the sneak peeks of the US version, it reminded me of a kooky Friends, much lighter in tone. Aiden (the vamp) can also erase people's minds, which makes me think the big ole reset button is a cheap get out clause :P
I'm going to be giving it a go, but I can't really see Jacob from Lost being half as good in the Herrick role. Nor anyone being as subtly brilliant as Tovey, Turner and Crichlow; they all just bring something to the characters that I don't see in the new guys. Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Sandiwich11 on January 17, 2011, 05:49:43 am Been reading some reviews that have come out tonight about the Syfy remake. None of them seem to be loving it, thou on the whole they aren't too bad. Quite a few are calling it soap opera like, and think the characters are lacking a little.
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Roranicus on January 17, 2011, 05:33:23 pm I am going to DL this later to see if it is any good. From what I hear the cast haven't been well received but I will judge for myself and see
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Sandiwich11 on January 17, 2011, 07:15:20 pm I was going to watch a stream for it, but then remembered I'm starting a Sons of Anarchy watch tonight with a couple of online buddies so I'll have to wait until 2mrw to see what it's like. I'm hoping that it will be good, just different, if that makes sense lol

Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Sandiwich11 on January 18, 2011, 05:10:57 am Couldn't sleep so I just watched the first and have to say I was pleasantly surprised. A few niggles but it was generally very good; very different style thou, it doesn't feel like the same show at all.
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Peri-Peri on January 18, 2011, 09:58:10 am No wonder I couldn't find it. I'll try again tonight. Quite looking forward to it now
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Roranicus on January 18, 2011, 06:44:18 pm I was convinced it was on on Sunday. I told everyone :P
Oh well, will DL it later now Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Exterminate on January 19, 2011, 11:31:23 am I didnt realise Robson Green was in series 3. Not really seen him in anything like this before so that should be interesting. And Michael Socha. Love his sister so interested to see what he is like.
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Sandiwich11 on January 19, 2011, 01:32:46 pm Lucy Turner is also in the first ep, lots of great guests this season ;D
Is it Sunday yet........... Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Aneurin on January 19, 2011, 05:29:17 pm I don't like the vampire. And the narration at the beginning was kind of annoying too. It wasn't too bad otherwise though

Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on January 23, 2011, 07:28:53 pm 9pm BBC3 & BBC HD :)
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: The Doc on January 23, 2011, 07:31:22 pm Awesome, thank you :)
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Vampyros Adric on January 23, 2011, 11:10:24 pm Well, that was a bit special wasn't it :)
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Oh-Wise-One on January 24, 2011, 12:28:31 pm Not a bad episode all in all. Not really enough of Annie I thought but I am hoping she will feature heavily next week. Lacey Turner was great. Shame she is only in two episodes
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Aneurin on January 24, 2011, 02:13:44 pm I was a bit surprised not to see or have mention of Herrick, given the closing of series 2
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Roranicus on January 24, 2011, 02:30:09 pm Yea I thought it might have at least been mentioned. Perhaps the plans changed because of the move to Wales and now they are going down a different route? The werewolf thing looks like it will be the series long story rather than the vampires this time around
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on January 24, 2011, 04:26:01 pm I suspect we will hear about Herrick at some point this series but he's got to get back on his feet & track them down first - bear in mind not much time is supposed to have gone by since the last series. I'm still gutted it was Herrick they bought back - really wanted them to be resurrecting Ivan!
Anyways - last night's ep was fab as always - nicely balancing the emotional stuff with the humour. All the guest stars (and boy weren't there a few!) were great in their roles. Can't wait to see where it goes next. PS - how strong is the family resemblance between Michael & Lauren Socha?! :) Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Exterminate on January 24, 2011, 08:46:23 pm I thought it was ok but expected a but more from it really. I like Lia and the George/Nina stuff is moving on nicely too. Im totally over all the Aiden stuff though and Annie needs to be more prominant. I enjoyed it though.
Oh and yes, Michael Socha and his sister could be identical twins! Its so wierd Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Peri-Peri on January 24, 2011, 11:16:23 pm I thought it was brilliant to be honest. I thought that the Herrick thing would be addressed but I wouldnt be surprised if we don't see him again until at least episode 4. Glad that Lacey Turner will be in the finale. Really liked her in last nights episode
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on January 29, 2011, 12:06:11 pm Couple of Being Human things.
1. The online spin-off starts this weekend straight after the BH episode. It will feature a character who we meet for the first time on the main show on Sunday & you will be able to watch it HERE (http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/becominghuman/) 2. I don't know if anyone is aware that there are 3 Being Human books - slipped my mind before but I just spotted mine on a clear up! Book 1 is The Road by Simon Guerrier (http://img1.fantasticfiction.co.uk/images/n67/n337671.jpg) Book 2 Chasers by Mark Michalowski (http://static.letsbuyit.com/filer/images/uk/products/original/215/87/being-human-chasers-21587392.jpeg) Book 3 Bad Blood by James Goss (http://img1.fantasticfiction.co.uk/images/n68/n342161.jpg) They are all enjoyable enough reads & add a little to the Being Human universe, although it is not 100% clear where they sit in chronology of the show (my guess is definitely after S1 & possibly even a little after the start of S2). Ok I think that's all :) Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: TheDoctorDonna on January 30, 2011, 12:09:42 pm I'd heard about the online spinoff a few weeks ago but thought it was going to air after episode 1. I'm not liking the look of the guy in tonights episode so I hope it isnt too heavily focused on him
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: chrissymarieb on January 30, 2011, 12:16:17 pm Finally managed to watch ep 1 of season 3 last night. I really enjoyed it. Looks like they set everything up for a really interesting season :)
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Roranicus on January 30, 2011, 09:06:01 pm Did anyone spot the hospital from The Eleventh Hour? I squeed a little :P
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Sandiwich11 on January 30, 2011, 10:22:43 pm Haven't read any new posts as I haven't seen the new episode yet. Have caught the Online ep thou which was good, just a little flat but I think that will pick up :D
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on January 30, 2011, 10:30:39 pm May seem a little less flat when you've seen tonight's main episode - or it may not. I thought it was a promising start :)
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: TheDoctorDonna on January 31, 2011, 04:52:35 pm Yesterdays episode was great. Loads of DW locations to spot too. The red button thing was ok but I think it would be better to watch them all in one go rather than a few minutes at a time as it seemed to end just as it was beginning to take off. I like that the focus was on George and Nina for a change. The vampire is starting to annoy me
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Tardis-Console on February 01, 2011, 12:56:07 pm Did anyone see them being interviewed on Alan Carr last night? So, so funny! Couple of spoilers too
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Roranicus on February 01, 2011, 02:57:23 pm I saw it. Was really funny. Shame the guy who plays the vampire wasn't there too but the other three were great fun. And Billie was on too. It was like a geek fest. I loved it :P
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Exterminate on February 01, 2011, 05:55:35 pm I saw it. I thought Lenora Crichlow was drunk :P
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Roranicus on February 06, 2011, 08:22:56 pm Can't wait for tonights episode. Is everyone still watching? This thread was busier before the show was actually on
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on February 06, 2011, 08:31:09 pm Yeah I'm still watching ... counting down to tonight's ep :D
Going to stock up on munchies in a bit as I'll be watching on a TV that can't be paused :) Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Roranicus on February 06, 2011, 08:41:13 pm I wish I had munchies. My cupboards are bare. I want chocolate!
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: TheDoctorDonna on February 06, 2011, 08:47:38 pm I'm watching too :)
Can't wait for tonight Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on February 06, 2011, 08:49:47 pm I wish I had munchies. My cupboards are bare. I want chocolate! I send you some if I could as I have loads left over from Christmas. I prefer savoury munchies :) 10 mins to go :D Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Peri-Peri on February 06, 2011, 09:18:23 pm Ha this episode is too funny :P
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Peri-Peri on February 06, 2011, 09:29:33 pm The Sky just cut out, so I am going to have to download it to watch the second half
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Sandiwich11 on February 07, 2011, 06:42:56 am I wasn't that keen on tonights episode, I'm really, really against the Annie/Mitchell ship thou which doesn't help I guess. I hate it when an angsty relationship takes over the show and becomes main focus, and we already have that with George and Nina in many ways (thou I love their dynamic on the whole) so why do we need it with the other two leads as well ::)
Wasn't that keen on the zombie either, a lot of her lines didn't quite work for me :-\ I think I need a rewatch of it. Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Peri-Peri on February 07, 2011, 11:28:57 am I only caught the first 20 minutes but I thought it was quite good. Hope the rest isn't too bad. I'm watching later
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Sandiwich11 on February 07, 2011, 02:25:35 pm The one thing that really annoyed me about Annie and Mitchell was how she said that he didn't need to reveal all that he had done, esp the Box Tunnel 20 incident. Failing to take on board Owen's dark side is basically what caused her to be killed in the first place, and here she is 2 years later acting in exactly the same way, I'd love to see more character development :(
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Aneurin on February 07, 2011, 10:46:09 pm I missed last nights and haven't managed to watch yet. I don't like the thought of Annie and Mitchell getting it on though :(
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on February 11, 2011, 10:06:39 pm Just been told about the existence of Being Human cards so I thought I'd share. Not sure if they are official merchandise but they are still very cool. Check them out HERE (http://www.cardelicious.com/index.php?page=collection&collection=1&cid=21)
I do think the BBC are missing a trick by not having merch for BH - t-shirts with pics, logos & quotes on would be great. My friend has just made me a tee, which is awesome, but official would be better ??? Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: thefifthdoctor on March 06, 2011, 01:44:50 pm I lost the whole lot after my V+ crashed - raging.
Need to torrentise the end of S2 & all of S3 now. Is it worth it? I saw Sandi having a nerdgasm on twitter over one of the eps being amazing at least. Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on March 06, 2011, 01:50:48 pm Ah the V+ box - after we had to replace our first one because it went more than a little odd we were told 'they are really reliable - don't know what happened there!' - I wasn't convinced & your story supports my thoughts!
I'm still really loving BH. This third series has been really strong as far as I'm concerned & it seems to be building towards an epic and possibly quite dark finale next weekend. I'd say it's worth it. Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Exterminate on March 10, 2011, 06:18:45 pm I'm the opposite to you PRG this time. I've found myself losing interest and with the exception of the first episode I watched the others after broadcast. Havent even seen the last two I don't think.
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on March 10, 2011, 07:03:57 pm Ah well - can't always agree :)
For what it's worth though Sunday's episode was absolutely amazing - for me anyway - possibly the best episode ... ever ... so far. I'm just a little worried that this week's series finale won't live up to it. Must have faith in Toby though! As an aside, BBC3 have announced that they will be showing the online/red button spin-off Becoming Human as a 50 minute episode (all the eps so far stitched together + the finale) on Sunday 20th March at 9pm - meaning that the finale of that will be simultaneously broadcast on TV & online. Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: The Doc on March 14, 2011, 08:08:07 pm This was renewed today for a fourth series
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: MandyDuchovney on March 14, 2011, 10:11:26 pm Well I have watched this very spasmodically and even I was :o by the finale :o
I imagine most people will be pleased about a 4th series BUT.... :o :'( Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on March 14, 2011, 11:11:25 pm Being a massive fan I was pretty much inconsolable at the end, but in terms of the story it made sense & I'm not going to be one of those 'I'm not watching it now people.'
I do wonder where they go from there though & will, of course, be tuning in next year to see. Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: MandyDuchovney on March 15, 2011, 01:13:58 am I realise I'm doing it the wrong way round but I will probably go back and watch it from the start now. Of series 3 that is. I need to know what led to such an ending :(
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on March 15, 2011, 11:29:20 am Did you see series 2? Just asking because one of the major factors that led to the ending actually happened towards the end of that series.
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: chrissymarieb on March 15, 2011, 01:31:18 pm Being a massive fan I was pretty much inconsolable at the end, but in terms of the story it made sense & I'm not going to be one of those 'I'm not watching it now people.' I do wonder where they go from there though & will, of course, be tuning in next year to see. I was literally crying at the end. I too wonder where it will go from here. Big shoes to fill. But I will keep watching! Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: thefifthdoctor on March 15, 2011, 02:46:49 pm Fast scrolled to the bottom to avoid spoilers as I've got the whole series to see.
Doesn't help that my V+ deleted it!!! Doubt they are all on iplayer still, so need to "find a way" ;) to see it. Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Peri-Peri on March 15, 2011, 02:56:29 pm I dropped out of this after episode 2. I just wasn't enjoying it as much. It might be because I watched the first two in marathon runs, and then had to sit with this weekly. I'll get all the episodes and do it in a sitting and see if I like it any better

Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on March 15, 2011, 04:47:10 pm Series 3 should all be on iplayer til Saturday/early Sunday as it only finished this week if that helps ???
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: thefifthdoctor on March 15, 2011, 05:45:04 pm Series 3 should all be on iplayer til Saturday/early Sunday as it only finished this week if that helps ??? The whole shebang still there, PRG? Nice one Beeb if it is! Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on March 15, 2011, 05:52:16 pm Just checked iplayer - yes all of S3 is still there - says til Sunday but I'd play safe & say til Saturday just to be sure. I've seen stuff disappear before.
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: thefifthdoctor on March 15, 2011, 06:45:25 pm Good thing I'm off work all week...that's my nights viewing planned out!
Double P, you in? ;) Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Aneurin on March 21, 2011, 05:34:37 pm Russell Tovey has said that they are hoping to get Series 4 out at the end of the year, so may not be too long a wait
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on March 21, 2011, 05:57:25 pm Hmm ... I won't get too excited because a similar thing was said last year & it didn't come to anything. Would be good though.
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Exterminate on March 31, 2011, 10:56:30 pm I read yesterday that the US series has been renewed. I've seen a few minutes of it but I wasn't keen
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Aneurin on April 01, 2011, 02:00:01 pm Its not as good as the UK version, but its not awful. It seems to be rating well though which is good
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: chrissymarieb on April 01, 2011, 04:52:18 pm It's weird right now because other then a few changes, the plot is very very similar to the first season of the UK version. But I have read that the show writers have not seen the later seasons of the UK version so that starting next season it will likely vary greatly. We'll see...
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: missadric2 on April 02, 2011, 10:45:10 am Not too sure how they are going to continue without mitchell but I suppose we will have to wait to see what they come up with :)
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Roranicus on May 02, 2011, 11:05:09 am Have there been any announcements about series 4 yet? New characters etc?
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on May 02, 2011, 11:17:40 am Nope. Just checked the official site & there have been no updates since the end of March.
The only things I do know are that the guy who ran the site/blog, Barry Pilling, has moved on to pastures new - hope the new person/team are good because Mr P was amazing at keeping that ticking over even when the show was off air. Also Marcus Whitney who has done the make up for the first 3 series has moved over to Casualty so will not be returning for S4. I follow the official FB & Twitter feeds so as soon as I get any info I'll update :) Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Roranicus on May 02, 2011, 11:38:10 am Cool. Do you think there will be a new addition, or do you think they will continue as a threesome like in the original series
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on May 02, 2011, 11:44:18 am I kind of want them to do something with Tom though they can't really keep him around as they will get too werewolf heavy - would be nice if he didn't just disappear though, or at least if he does that there is some kind of explanation.
I also think they are going to need a 'good' vampire as that is a basic part of what the show is about. Hold on ... actually I think Toby said something about this recently - I'm so forgetful sometimes. My friend tweeted a video interview - let me see if I can find it :) Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on May 02, 2011, 11:57:21 am Here's the link http://uk.ign.com/videos/2011/04/14/kapow-11-being-human-uk-mitchell-isnt-coming-back - not sure how to embed a non YouTube vid :-\
There will be probably be an advert but not a very long one. I'm intrigued by the new Sci-Fi show he's developing for the BBC :) Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Peri-Peri on May 03, 2011, 08:39:25 pm They will definately need a new vampire but I think they will have to tread carefully in how they bring him in. Another 'nice' vampire just happening to come along wouldnt really be convincing. I realise I am stating the obvious, but still :P
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on May 03, 2011, 08:42:05 pm Probably would have made slightly more sense to bring one in before Mitchell went but still it's done now.
Maybe they can find a vamp & 'tame' him :-\ Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Peri-Peri on May 03, 2011, 08:49:29 pm Did he quit after they finished filming or was it known that he was leaving?
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on May 03, 2011, 09:30:22 pm They knew he was going because he's now off in NZ filming The Hobbit for quite some time but Toby was planning on an open ending as far as I know, it was Aidan himself that convinced him otherwise. And the ending they had makes more sense to the story.
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Twisted-Sister on May 06, 2011, 11:51:00 am I think series 4 will probably be the last. I thought series 3 would be. Not because its bad or anything, but the BBC doesnt generally take many shows like this past 3 series.
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on June 11, 2011, 04:25:30 pm The first read through for S4 is on Monday :)
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: Peri-Peri on November 13, 2011, 02:18:37 pm I heard yesterday that Russell Tovey had quit and won't be back for the new series. It's a shame but I think his character went downhill after the first series. I like Annie the most anyway and there is apparantly a new guy coming on board but I suspect this series will be the last.
Title: Re: I love Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on November 14, 2011, 11:34:03 am As I understood it he has filmed scenes for S4, but won't be back after that. Might be wrong though, but it would make sense to write the character out properly like they did with Mitchell.
The new guy is a
vamp
as far as I know. Title: Re: Being Human Post by: Tardis-Console on December 06, 2011, 03:36:15 pm When is the next season even on?
Title: Re: Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on December 07, 2011, 01:26:45 pm No news yet, but it's usually on around Jan/Feb time. As soon as there's any news I'll pop it in here :)
Title: Re: Being Human Post by: TheDoctorDonna on December 28, 2011, 02:10:34 pm Hasn't Russell Tovey said he will now be staying until the end of Series 4?
Title: Re: Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on January 06, 2012, 07:14:32 pm SFX Magazine have announced the episode titles for S4. You can see them HERE (http://www.sfx.co.uk/2012/01/06/being-human-series-four-episode-titles-revealed/)
They also indicate that the series will begin later this month. Title: Re: Being Human Post by: Saber on January 06, 2012, 08:52:36 pm The first four sound uite good and intriguing. The others are a bit 'meh'. Obviously the titles mean nothing about how good it will be, though.
Title: Re: Being Human Post by: Roranicus on January 07, 2012, 01:16:07 am I still need to finish series 3. Will have to get it done before the new series starts
Title: Re: Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on January 09, 2012, 04:47:06 pm The first prequel for S4 is up. Our first look at a new character.
Click Here (http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/beinghuman/2012/01/hal.html) The BBC press pack for S4 also reveals that
this new series is Russell Tovey's last & Nina (Sinead Keenan) will not feature in this new series. Michael Socha'a character, Tom, has been promoted to a lead role.
I've tagged that in case anyone doesn't want to know, even though it's in the official series news. Title: Re: Being Human Post by: Saber on January 09, 2012, 08:29:02 pm In regards to the spoiler tags, do we know why? That's such a shame. Also odd that it's been left so long before announcement.
I think this season, regardless of quality, will be the last. Too many changes going on in such a short time and I think it will all start to feel a bit too different. Title: Re: Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on January 09, 2012, 09:23:42 pm In the press release it says that
SK decided her BH journey had come to an end. And she has said as much herself today on Twitter. She also said she was asked to keep it quiet & has only spoken out now because it's in the press pack. You can read the Press pack HERE (http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/mediapacks/beinghuman/) & Sinead's tweets HERE (http://) - you may need to scroll down a bit.
I'm sad to see her go, but if it's her choice it has to be respected, but it's a shame she doesn't get an onscreen ending. She actually had a longer run in the show than planned though - originally Nina was meant to die in S1.
I wondered myself if this would be the last series. Toby Whithouse is fairly adamant it's not, but I guess it will be dependent on how it's received. Title: Re: Being Human Post by: Tardis-Console on January 11, 2012, 03:09:53 pm I didn't know they planned on killing her off in the first series.
I used to love George but in series 2 he went downhill and I went off him a lot. Annie has always been my favourite though so as long as she stays I will keep tuning in. I've just started my rewatch today. Title: Re: Being Human Post by: Roranicus on January 13, 2012, 03:47:32 pm I've just started my rewatch today. I was going to start a rewatch but I know I won't get it all done in time and then will end up delaying the new series, so this weekend I am just going to try and do series 3. I've not rewatched any of it and I don't remember half of it. Don't even think I saw the last episode. Title: Re: Being Human Post by: Tardis-Console on January 21, 2012, 03:45:57 pm I had to stop for a couple of days but I'm up to 3.5 now. Nearly done.
Title: Re: Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on January 25, 2012, 04:04:38 pm According to the official Twitter feed this returns to BBC3 on Sunday February 5th at 9pm.
Title: Re: Being Human Post by: Peri-Peri on January 25, 2012, 04:11:41 pm I was just reading that. I don't understand why they held out so long on giving a date. The BBC scheduling people are so annoying.
Title: Re: Being Human Post by: Saber on February 06, 2012, 08:56:22 pm Who watched? Was it good? I didn't get around to watching it last night but I accidently read a load of spoilers, mainly involving George, today.
Title: Re: Being Human Post by: Kovarians-Eye-Patch on February 07, 2012, 11:38:46 pm I thought it was pretty good. Bits of humour, some sad bits and Michael Socha really does well as a main character. It's hard to explain, but everything sort of felt bigger. More large scale. The biggest shame is that Nina left off screen. And how.
Title: Re: Being Human Post by: Exterminate on March 30, 2012, 12:28:02 pm Just read last night that they have axed Annie. Gutted!
Title: Re: Being Human Post by: poprockgeek on March 30, 2012, 02:41:57 pm Just read last night that they have axed Annie. Gutted! I have no issue with it - she had a proper ending & I am glad Toby Whithouse took charge of it so he wasn't left in a similar situation to the one he found himself in at the start of S4. As for this series - I loved it, esp the relationship between Tom & Hal (comedy gold & also very touching). Very excited about S5, even if it has been cropped down to 6 eps. Title: Re: Being Human Post by: Aneurin on March 31, 2012, 01:28:48 pm That's a shame. She was my favourite. I haven't watched S4 yet so I hope she gets a good ending rather than just disappearing between series.
Title: Re: Being Human Post by: Scott on April 01, 2012, 03:12:34 am I can't say I'm particularly surprised to be honest. From what I've read though I think she would have been happy to stay on.
