It seems everyone else has said what I came in here to say, and that is that they shouldn't have had him missing from the middle, or at the most they should have left it at one episode. There wasn't enough going on in the story to mask his absense as well as it's been done in others.

Three for me. Equal parts good and bad and not enough of either to sway me one way or another.

I think it's a great idea. And looking at the main page this story has been one of the more talked about ones, so it's obviously not offputting.

Don't hold out hopes for the new companion. If you like him by the end of the series you'll be in a group of about 17 people

Total heartbreaker. I loved the story and the character. It was note perfect, the whole thing.

Amy

Amelia Jessica Pond was the first companion of the Doctor in his eleventh incarnation. She was the girlfriend and later wife of human nurse Rory Williams and the mother of River Song. When River married the Doctor, Amy became his mother-in-law. Amy died aged 87 in an unknown time period before 2012 after allowing a Weeping Angel to send her back in time so she could be reunited with her husband who had been touched by the Angel. She was buried beside her husband in a graveyard in Queens, New York.
