He's never been one of my favourites. I didn't like the way he was used as a sort of guilt trip for Rose (though admittedly she didn't treat him that well) and I just think as a character he was sort of pathetic and whiny. I did like him towards the very end of season 2 though because he seemed to have manned up a bit.

Davison and Fieldings commentaries are famous for their negativity. You'll begin to not even notice it before too long. Everyone complains about them and I think I even read somewhere that Davison had a telling off from some producers for always being so down about everything. A quick search on google will show you hundreds of websites and forums where people complain about them.

Nobody wants to be eaten alive until there is nothing left of you but a skeleton, so the idea that a shadow could latch onto you after deciding to make you it's meal, and all you can do it wander around and wait for the inevitable is quite a chilling concept.

With the Vashta Nerada Steven Moffat manages to play on everyones fear of the dark and what might be lurking in it, only he spins it on it's head because it's actually the dark here that wants to eat your face. By making the enemy something slow so that death, rather than being immediate, becomes something that you have to wait for, it turns something that might otherwise have failed as a bad guy into something quite terrifying indeed. And it's that scare factor that wins the Vashta Nerada a place on my list!

My list is going to be a bit different than what the title suggests. It would be far too easy to make a list of the baddies with Daleks and Angels and Autons and Cybers and whatever else in there, so my list is going to be filled with baddies/aliens/monsters who were only lucky enough to face the Doctor once on screen. This elminates the obvious choices and makes the list a bit more interesting, I think.

I will be covering all aspects of the show, from 1963-2013. All of the choices are my own so I apologise if your favourites don't make the list. Don't shout at me please

I'll be interested to see how this list plays out if these guys are only managing tenth position. There must be some fierce competition. Are you covering both eras?

I just plain don't like this story. It doesn't work for me at all. I wish I was being a bit more constructive about it, but I just never took to it.

Definitely too early for me to have included her, but I agree with everyone else that she seems very promising.

My opinion of this story changes every time I watch it. Sometimes I love it and can overlook the bad or silly bits, but then other times I watch it and it feels like utter nonsense. I don't think I'll ever make my mind up with it.

I'm not sure this would have made my list of best exits, but it would definitely have made my tearjerkers list. Gets me every time
