41  Fanatical For Who / The Top Ten Of Everything / Re: Exterminate's Top Ten Dalek Stories on: January 07, 2013, 05:07:35 pm
I think The Chase is a wonderful story, but I was never really sure of it's intentions. Was it meant to be serious and the director went the other way, or was it actually meant to be a bit of a fun romp, which seems a little out of keeping with other Dalek stories. However it was meant to be, it works for me. I like it a lot.
42  Fanatical For Who / The Top Ten Of Everything / Re: Tardis-Console's Top Ten Third Doctor Stories on: January 07, 2013, 05:05:15 pm
I think The Claws of Axos should definitely be on the list. It's a great story and put a nice spin on the alien invasion theme

This is a good book that I read a while back. Not the best of the Eleventh Doctor stories, but a strong one all the same.
44  Fanatical For Who / The Top Ten Of Everything / Re: PRG's Top Ten of Personally Owned Merchandise on: January 07, 2013, 04:59:17 pm
When I was on maternity leave I must have spent hundreds of pounds on merchandise. God I was soooo bored and soooo fat that I could barely move. I spent hours each day reading books, watching episodes and listening to audios. People were bringing me Doctor Who things instead of maternity stuff Grin

There are some excellent books and magazines out there that tailor to all ages and some of the reference and information books are among the best. Some of it is stretched a bit thinly in an attempt to make a few quid, but every now and then you get brilliant ones, like the Brilliant Book or the Encyclopedia and they are just brilliant.

I'm not sure about VotD, but TKoM would have been higher up my list, for sure. It's a great little story and all too often overlooked, I think.

Planet of the Spiders

Because the Doctor regenerates because of radiation poisoning in both.

I think Ainley was brilliant in the role but it is hard not to make comparisons to Delgado. He was still finding his feet in the role at this point though and I think his later performances are far better, but that's not to say that this was a bad performance.
51  Travels In Time And Space / Logopolis / Re: The Fourth Doctor in Logopolis on: January 07, 2013, 04:35:12 pm
Tom Baker was great in this. Perhaps not at his peak, but still putting in a great performance nonetheless.
52  Travels In Time And Space / Logopolis / Re: The Watcher on: January 07, 2013, 04:34:29 pm
I agree with the above comment. It was sort of nice. Not something I think should be a part of every regen, but it didn't hurt here.
53  Travels In Time And Space / Logopolis / Re: Random Facts About.... Logopolis on: January 07, 2013, 04:31:13 pm
Technically, this story has the largest body count of any Doctor Who serial.
54  Travels In Time And Space / Logopolis / Re: Tegan Jovanka in Logopolis on: January 07, 2013, 04:28:39 pm
Tegan, when she wasn't moaning was actually quite watchable and likable, but towards the end you have to wonder why she was even sticking around.

Three films were number 1. I've seen none of them

Eyewitness
The Devil and Max Devlin
The Funhouse

March 11th - Alex Kingstons 18th Birthday and John Barrowmans 14th
57  Travels In Time And Space / Logopolis / Re: Nyssa in Logopolis on: January 07, 2013, 04:22:32 pm
I quite like Nyssa but I think the character suffers from being surrounded by too many other companions. She always worked well with Five and I think had she had more opportunities could have been a much stronger companion.
58  Travels In Time And Space / Logopolis / Re: Firsts and Lasts in Logopolis on: January 07, 2013, 04:20:55 pm
This was the last time in the classic run that the character was listed as 'Doctor Who' instead of 'The Doctor'
59  Travels In Time And Space / Logopolis / Re: Adric in Logopolis on: January 07, 2013, 04:19:03 pm
I've never been a huge fan. I think he is given a harsher time than is perhaps deserved, but there is not really anything of the character to celebrate, either.
60  Travels In Time And Space / Logopolis / Re: The Ratings for Logopolis on: January 07, 2013, 04:18:12 pm
The AI figure for the final episode looks good. I'm guessing people were at least pleased with how TB bowed out.
