281  Travels In Time And Space / The Crusade / Re: General Spoilery Discussion Part 2 on: May 19, 2011, 10:40:03 am
I have found a Russian website that seems to get Doctor Who images before episodes are broadcast.  For example, this is from Episode 7, due to be shown on 4th June.

If you aren't able to translate the caption under the image, it says "THIS IMAGE IS UNDER STRICT EMBARGO UNTIL 00:01HRS 12TH APRIL 2011", so it seems that the BBC have 'released' this image to publicise the upcoming episode, but I'll be keeping an eye on this site, watching for more spoilers...  Wink

This didn't take long! Was tweeted by some guy called Stephen Ackroyd so I'm giving him the credit unless we hear otherwise  Smiley

Love this picture...
I found a larger version on the DWAS Blog page
283  Travels In Time And Space / The Impossible Astronaut / Re: I knew she was!!! on: April 24, 2011, 10:11:45 am
My theories:

1) Amy is pregnant with River Song
 - It has been stated that River first knew the Doctor at a young age, when he knew everything about her.  Maybe he actually knew her as a baby, before she remembered.

2) River Song was the astronaut.
 - River has previously said that she killed the best man she ever knew.

3) Matt Smith will be the last ever Doctor
 - His death seems pretty permanent, although he still has 200 years of adventures to cover.

I know that James Corden returns as Craig Owens in series 6, but it would be nice if he travelled with the Doctor for a while - maybe even bringing his girlfriend Sophie with them...

I love the idea that River Song might be Rassilon or Omega, though I doubt it.

It seems that River Song knows the Doctor's real name, and as the Doctor states, there is only one way she could know that, if they were married!  He would be forced to say his whole name at the ceremony.  Therefore River Song must be the Doctor's future wife.  This rules out the Jenny theory too.  She also says that the 10th Doctor was nor her Doctor, also suggesting a union.

Even the Doctor academy friends, including the Rani, the Master, the War Chief and the Monk knew him only as Theta Sigma (or 'Thete' for short).  It seems that River Song also knew this nickname, as it was in the message on the diamond cliffs of Planet 1 (The Pandorica Opens)

As she doesn't regenerate in the Library, she's either not a Timelord or has reached her last regeneration, which doesn't rule out Romana.

Romana, according to the 2006 DW Annual, was still President of Gallifrey at the start of the Time War, but by the end of the Time War, we know Rassilon is in charge.  Did Romana flee Gallifrey during the Time War and hide as a human using the fob watch, and therefore escape the Time Lock - it worked for The Master...

Of course, Craig Owens (The Lodger) also received the Doctor's intimate history and may know his real name, but I can't image any bizarre twist of fate that would turn James Corden into Alex Kingston.  Maybe Moffat can...?

Your favourite Doctor is Richard E Grant?  Shocked Cheesy

Nice to have you aboard Cool
Yup, loved his as the Doctor in Scream of the Shalka.
I know he's not generally accepted as one of the 11 'official' doctors, but the BBC put him as the Doctor in an episode on the Doctor Who official website, so that's good enough for me  Grin

Thanks to everyone for the welcoming messages  Afro
287  The Doctor In The TARDIS Help Centre / Introductions / Hi All! on: March 27, 2011, 03:23:24 pm
It's nice to finally find a place to vent my enthusiasm for Doctor Who.

I've been a Doctor Who fan for over 25 years, but thanks to some school friends setting up a Doctor Who Club 22 years ago at the local Town Hall, my passion has grown steadily since then.

I am in the process of gathering a huge collection of digital Dr Who, so that I can re-watch old episodes, catch some I missed, and keep them for future viewing.  I already have every episode, book, audio book and DWM on my hard-drive (over 400Gb of it!).  Reading all those old books (and the new ones) has really reignited my passion for Doctor Who.

I have also just joined the DWAS, something I've been meaning to do for a long time, but never got round to.  Looking forward to getting my membership pack in the post...  Afro
