River's diary is different to the original one (BESIDES being new...) the spine is different.
2  Travels In Time And Space / A Good Man Goes To War / Re: The Skeleton Hand on: June 05, 2011, 03:12:09 am
What if it is the screwdriver River said the Doctor gave her in "Forest of the Dead"? The Doctor doesn't trust her there yer, and she say something along the lines of: "I didn't snatch it from your dead hand, if that's what you mean!" She sounds truthful, but River, just like the Doctor, lies... Not that I want ther to, tho Tongue I ♥ River!
And that's that... But we all know with this show, we never know...

This is the benefit of putting the hive mind to work Smiley Some nice thinking there Peri Smiley

First things first, I agree with Doc, John Smith is an 'everyman' name that he first used in Spearhead from Space and keeps cropping up throughout Who history.

More significant is the Red Balloons - I never noticed the Red Balloons before. It might be nothing, it might be an old directors trick or something because red balloons look best on TV so they always used them... but you never know, it is certainly something I would never have thought of! It has a nice 'Bad Wolf' feel to it as well Smiley
Yeah, the John Smith thingie is quite lame, but it can still be a hint... I'm not sure how much the Doctor has used his alias since the 2005 reboot, I should prolly check. I suppose "Smith and Jones" is a no brainer. And I think he uses it in "School Reunion" Time to look for red balloons there... "School Reunion" reminds me of Sarah Jane's Adventures... and I think there are red ballons in the Clown episode... should check.
And as for the balloons... At first I thought exactly that, they look cool on TV. But IDK, since the trailer, I've got this "Bad Wolf" feeling as you called it related to the balloons, and when I saw it in tAP, it got me thinking, did some digging, and read the thing that said "Watch out for the ballons" So, started putting all my theories together and the fact that I absolutely hope that Rory is the arc, that he is a Time Lord with a fob watch or something, definitely pointed me to Human Nature...

Not sure if this is the right place or not, if it isn't plz just delete the post and ignore it, but I thought it was the most appropiate place...
I've had this silly theory that this year’s arc was going to be about Rory, and how he might be a Time Lord of some kind. Then I pulled myself out of that string of thought because Rory simply cannot be a Time Lord, we’ve got enough evidence about that. But then I thought of the FOB WATCH! He could very well be a Time Lord with some kind of horcrux, lol. So then I started thinking and rethinking, and someone posted this video of the Tenth Doctor in that episode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDrsHG0MmZg&feature=player_embedded

And I was like: Did he really mention Rory?

OMG! And then he says: “I don’t know if anyone remembers the Housemartins, but the best gig I ever went to was at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Center in about December, it must have been, 1990, and the Housemartins were playing, and it was quite simply the best gig I’d ever been to.”

Coincedence much? Rory is being mentioned, and then his badge says it was issued in Nov 30th, 1990. NOVEMBER! 30th! LAST DAY of November, what comes after NOVEMBER?

And I know Moffat said he didn’t really realise about that, but always remember: Plus, another point: Tenth mentions this Rory person in point six, I mean… POINT SIX! What season are we in right now? Errr… Yep, you guessed! Series SIX

I know it might be my stupid brain trying to make sense of everything, but still…

And now to the red balloons, they are everywhere! So, thanks to them, I'm absolutely sure now that this season's arc is related to "Human Nature"/"Family of Blood", "The Pandorica Opens"/"The Big Bang" and I'm pretty sure I've seen them somewhere else too, just can't remember where exactly, but I will find them, and update this post.

Earlier I mentioned a deleted scene from "Human Nature" where the Doctor mentions a person called Rory (I'm asuming it was just David Tennant improvising, and the Rory he is mentioning is, in fact, Rory Taylor, one of the two directors od photography during the Russel T. era. However, the Moff might have taken advantage of such scene)

We also know we need to look out for red balloons (I'm not sure where I read it) So, I went back to my amazing DVD box set and started watching the above said episodes. And guess what I found! Yep, red ballons! Plus one of the characters is called Jenny (just like our lil friend ganger!)

Then, I remembered seeing more red balloonies! Where? In "The Big Bang" (I've got screenies, but I don't know how to upload them here... SCREENIES ADDED

And then of course, they appear in "The Almost People"

So, that's that. I'm absolutely sure the balloons connects these stories.

Then I thought the girl from "Human Nature" was very much like the girl in "Day of the Moon" so I went and screenied again. They are definitely not the same actress, but they are quite alike, aren't they?

And then, another little detail that a friend pointed out. The Doctor!ganger calls himself John Smith... I know, it's the average Brit J. Doe, but still, what's the Doctor's name in "Human Nature" and "Family of Blood"? Isn't it John Smith? I know the Doctor always uses that alias, but still, could it be a clue to tell us where to look?

Plus, Moffat said no one had guessed already, and River being Amy's daughter, OR the regenarating girl, is like quite the obvious choice. And we've been twisting our brains to fill the holes in all of our theoires!!!

Where am I right now? I'm not quite sure, but, what I'm definitely postive about, is that these two-parters are linked somehow AND that Rory is more than just the nurse/the roman/the Whovian version of Kenny... I'm just glad Saturday is coming soon, my head will get to rest for a bit... I mean, at least as who's River, right? I also know, Moffat is very cruel, and is gonna give us a mofo cliffhanger for us to theorise about for what? 3 months? GAH!

Oh! And one more thing! In "Human Nature", Son of Mine, says: "I'm just waiting for Silence!" Of course, in that scene, he's asking the dancing mob to keep quiet, but... Just some food for thought! Hope you enjoy all my theorising, my brain aches... BAD.

7  Travels In Time And Space / The Almost People / Re: My Theory of what might happen based on the double Doctor situation. on: May 25, 2011, 07:45:03 pm
IMO, the Dead Doctor from the first episode could very well be the clone, HOWEVER, I do think it's a bit too obvious of a theory, isn't it? I mean, in the Moff's standards...
8  Travels In Time And Space / The Doctor's Wife / Re: Changing Gender on: May 19, 2011, 12:08:25 am
OK, this might be the most stupid theory ever, but with the Moff one can never know... What if for some reason the Doctor CHOOSES to regenerate into the girl we saw in the first episode? And then, the regeneration we see at the end of the TDOTM is actually the Doctor turning into Matt again? They did say they were going to address the issue of the 12th regeneration at some point... What if him turning into a female (for whatever reason) is the key and he finds out now?
Meh... I'm totally against the Doctor being a girl... I wouldn't mind Omega or even the Master ffs! But not HIM!!!

Actually, that's not remotely a stupid theory, and it's quite plausible.  If that's the case, maybe it wouldn't be a matter of having to get used to a female Doctor, just the idea that he's female for a while.
Yeah... Moff's got my head spinning... Like of all the theories I've got in my mind right now, it's the one that would bother me the less... I thought the girl might be River (after lots of thought twisting and twirling, and going round Idris comment on how the only water in the River is the forest) Like maybe the doctor finds a way of getting River out of the library she got stuck in FotD by turning her into a Time Lord, err Lady... But then, what would be the point of even mentioning Time Lords could change gender? Right? I'm liking my theory more and more (the one about the lil girl being the doc, cuz she's already regenerating, lol) And also, the little issue of the doctor being dead dead in a couple centuries!

10  Travels In Time And Space / The Impossible Astronaut / Re: Is he really gone? on: May 02, 2011, 05:55:26 am
Also, he might not be dead dead... The master died at the end of S3, and still part of him survived (the ring) so peeps were able to regen him... OK, OK, I know the master has a way of bending rules, which the Doctor doesn't, but what if the "Time Lord Victorious" takes over him again at the end of this series -like it did in TWoM? He might see the end is coming or something, and decides to mess with time instead of running this time.
11  Travels In Time And Space / The Impossible Astronaut / Re: Is he really gone? on: May 02, 2011, 05:50:26 am
I think yes! He is definately dead. But in answer to the original question, I do not think he is gone.

Moffat has a way of writing timey wimey so that it can sometimes tie the viewer up in knots, but when broken down its really simple. Looking at it on a larger scale, the Doctor dying sort of means that the Doctor can never die. It created a paradox. By dying it means it put his past self into action on a course of events that means two years down the line he will again leave a message to his past self before dying, which his past self will then follow, leading to the same point two years in his future, etc. Round and round and round and round we go.

BUT

Perhaps this has already gone round in circles 20 times already. Perhaps the future Doctor knows the ending and so is changing events. Perhaps future Doctor was never actually meant to die, but did so as a way of ensuring his younger self carried on down a different path. Perhaps the Doctor really is dead but by dying leads younger Doctor to do something which means older Doctor never dies in the first place.

This of course could create a sort of anti-clockwise paradox, as if he doesnt die, it doesnt set the Doctor on his new path, which then means he does die, which then does set the Doctor off on his new path, so then he doesnt die, which means......... Get my drift?

I'm sure, confusing as I just made it, that the Doctor dying is the reason he doesn't die. Whether Moff then feels the need to fill out the rest of the story with paradox bumpf is up to him, but I think its the only way it can really work without the story being a big huge copout.

This is sort of the reason I am starting to really hate all the timey wimey crap. Straight lines work just as well and the stories are often just as good, if not better.

I tried to explain this in the Story Arc thread... I think the arc this year is going to be something related to paradoxes, and the way you put it, all wibbly wobbly, explains exactly how I feel and what I think the whole series will be about.

So what... We are OK with Amy sleeping with the Doctor? Why else would she be Amy's child and be able to regen???

The lady somehow reminded me of "Bad Wolf" (the episodes in the 1st 2005 series) Don't know why exactly... But I keep hoping for stuff...

15  Travels In Time And Space / The Doctor's Wife / Re: Is [spoiler] Returning? on: May 02, 2011, 03:42:29 am
Time Lords can regenerate into either sex, right? I thought they couldn'y but when 11th regenerated, the first thing he says when he touches his hair is "OMG, I'm a girl!" So... What if Idris isn't Romana, but Omega. He was sent to an antimatter universe and that's what made him go psyco. And if Idris is mad, and we are speculating about her being a Time Lord, Omega being back would fit too... After all, when Romana stayed in e-space, she wasn't crazy!

When River fell into the pool there was water coming out of the TARDIS even though the pool is really far away. Aslo when they come out of it, after that scene River is all wet, while the others are dry, and if she'd splashed so much, they should all have been at least a bit wet.

I came up with a few when I was watching but for the life of me can't remember them now. Stay tuned for my rewatch tomorrow hehe Wink

19  Travels In Time And Space / The Impossible Astronaut / Re: Series 6 Story Arc on: May 01, 2011, 06:57:03 am
I haven't seen today's episode just yet... But I was thinking (I do that sometimes...) What if the arc has something to do with time paradoxes? Like think, the Space and Time specials, it was kind of paradoxy -them landing inside the TARDIS and helping themselves and all that, they even interacted with each other, which I thought it was a nono. Anyway, now we got the Old Doctor having the Young Doctor do something, but he isn't supposed to know what the Old Doctor wants... Or that's what River tells the others... And then The Silents tell Amy he must know... So maybe the Arc IS about creating a Paradox itself, or something of the sort... IDK, I might be wrong, but it's just an idea... If not, why else would the Doctor risk it, right? Besides, and do not kill me for this, but the Silent seem very similar to Oods, what if they aren't mean mean... I know they killed the poor lady in the restroom, but still... What if they aren't THAT evil? Also, last year I got the idea (don't ask me how or why or when cuz I don't remember) that Omega was gonna come back... So maybe the Doctor has to face something from the old series, but for that needs to retrace his steps or something. Meh...
20  Travels In Time And Space / The Impossible Astronaut / Re: Mistakes & Inconsistencies on: April 25, 2011, 04:20:38 am
OK it's probably nothing, but I'm assuming this episode is supposed to be set on 23rd April 2011 right, and the envelopes they all recieve should surely say this date: 23/04/2011, but look... it says the 22nd, I don't know if 22nd was supposed to be or if it was just a mistake

Prolly because that date is going to be important... IDK... Moffy seems to pay A LOT of attention to dates, don't you think?
