That does look really good actually. I never buy calendars but I might have to invest.

325  Travels In Time And Space / The Ark In Space / Re: Sarah Jane Smith on: July 04, 2012, 11:26:58 pm
She was a great companion. One of the best. But I do agree with others that this wasn't her strongest appearance. There was nothing wrong with her in this, she just took a backseat I think.
326  Travels In Time And Space / The Ark In Space / Re: The Wirrn on: July 04, 2012, 11:24:00 pm
In context with the rest of the classics I don't think they looked too bad. It's easy to mock it these days but when you think of budgets they did the best they could and they weren't made for HD, were they?

I'll tell you what though, I'd rather some rubbish home made looking monster than the expensive but even more shoddy looking CGI aliens like we get these days, like Lazarus
327  Travels In Time And Space / The Ark In Space / Re: Harry Sullivan on: July 04, 2012, 11:17:36 pm
Aw Harry could have been great. He sort of was when you consider what he was given to work with, but he could have been so much more. It's a shame because Ian Marter was a great actor.
328  Travels In Time And Space / The Ark In Space / Re: The Titles For Episode 1 on: July 04, 2012, 11:15:51 pm
I just went into the 'watch online' thread and still don't see anything. Am I being really dim?
329  Travels In Time And Space / The Ark In Space / Re: The Titles For Episode 1 on: July 04, 2012, 11:13:57 pm
I don't know what everyone is talking about. I've never noticed anything. Maybe I've just not paid enough attention. What was wrong with it?
330  Travels In Time And Space / The Ark In Space / Re: 19th January - 15th February 1975 on: July 04, 2012, 11:11:07 pm
January 20th was Tom Bakers 41st Birthday
February 1st was Elisabeth Sladens 27th Birthday

Another film I've never seen

Oh you should. It's good!
332  Travels In Time And Space / The Ark In Space / Re: The Fourth Doctor on: July 04, 2012, 11:05:49 pm
I like the Fourth Doctor a lot and I think this was a great performance from him. I can't deny what others have said about his performances getting weaker as time went on but based on this story alone I think he is great.

Will I look like an idiot if I ask what an AI is?
334  Travels In Time And Space / The Ark In Space / Re: Poll: Rate & Review The Ark In Space on: July 04, 2012, 11:03:24 pm
I have given this story a score of 5/5. I think it has a great, engrossing plot that keeps pulling you in and just gets better as it goes along. Unlike a lot of Tom Baker stories, even the more serious ones, there was a lot less humour in this and I think that really added to the tension. It wasn't missed though and the story didn't feel too heavy or anything. I'd even say, disagreeing with some of the above, that the effects were pretty good. The Wirrn looked like a Blue Peter creation but the technical stuff was pretty good for the era I think.

The Fourth Doctor: My doctorate is purely honorary, and Harry here is only qualified to work on sailors.

The prop for the long shots of the space station shakes like it's on a string.

K9: Satisfactory, mistress?..... Satisfactory, mistress?
Leela: Yes, K9. What do you want, a biscuit?"

I love that!
338  Travels In Time And Space / The Sun Makers / Re: Is Doctor Who The Place To Get Political? on: July 04, 2012, 10:54:37 pm
I agree with the points that it's probably a lot easier to write what you know, but more than that I think that there is probably more of a story in the things that annoy you, especially in a series like this. I think in this story the writer had the chance to have a moan about something that frustrated them but I don't think I would call it particularly 'political'.
339  Travels In Time And Space / The Sun Makers / Re: Random Facts About.... The Sun Makers on: July 04, 2012, 10:52:25 pm
Michael Keating who plays Goudry was cast as Vila in Blakes 7 based on his performance in this.

My random fact is that I've never seen that show and have no idea what it's about, though I have been told its awesome and that I should check it out

Me either. Wasn't Louise Jameson in that too?

I don't think she was. She may have had a guest spot but I'm pretty sure she wasn't a regular.
340  Travels In Time And Space / The Sun Makers / Re: K-9 on: July 04, 2012, 10:51:06 pm
I think K9 is cute. I don't understand why people find him annoying. From what I know the prop was a nightmare to work with but as a character on the screen I don't see anything wrong with him.
