I am Chris (my user name is also my Twitter name cunningly disguising my real identity lol) and I am an avid Sci Fi geek, Dr Who is my favourite but I love Star Trek, Torchwood, Battlestar Galactica, Futurama. In fact, if its got space ships or alien tech in it, then I probably like it!

I used to read for fun but now I can't as 'work reading' takes up my time these days. I also am a bit of a sports fan so when I'm not watching sci-fi chances are i'm watching cricket or football. I do like a good political/philosophical discussion as well and I am relentlessly cheerful.

I am quite old and I also talk too much.

It is true to say that a lot of early Dr Who was marred by poor production values, cheap sets and episodes getting taped over. I wonder what it would be like to take some of those early stories and remake them with a modern twist. I wonder, how good would The Web of Fear look with a bit of script editing, Matt Smith as the Doc, the Mill's effects and Murray Gold's brilliant music? Its just a thought and alternatively you might be tempted to argue that we have the best young crop of British writers that this proud nation has ever seen and that we should not look backwards. I serve only to open the debate...

I have really grown to love the idea of a Who Xmas Special. It gives me something to really look forward to (TV wise obviously). I wonder how far Moff will make this a stand alone story or whether it will contribute to an as yet unseen arc! Bring on the fake snow is all i have to say Smiley

Interestingly for me it has been a lifelong companion. My first regeneration (properly that I can remember) was Logopolis (4 to 5) and the first story that ever properly scared me was Robots of Death when I was 5 Smiley I am actually really envious of peeps who are discovering it now - I wish I could watch it de novo as it were Smiley
