No, the sarcasm was indeed noticed and looked to me like negging. Its only real purpose was to remind everyone that you didn't enjoy S5 - which nobody is forcing you to do, much less post on a thread dedicated to praise.

Back on topic, I know the new Daleks have come in for some stick but they haven't had a big chance to show how powerful they are yet. I know quite a few younger fans who love their new look and I like tne idea of them having specific roles within the Dalek army. You could have entirely different stories based on which Daleks were involved.

I have another idea: next year's main villain is the as-yet-unseen Mr Song. I doubt this would be the Master as I don't see him making the same mistake twice, maybe some unhinged copycat? We've seen other members of the Cult of Saxon before, after all.

I want that stylus!

Then, um, don't post here?

Shh, before The Doc starts ranting...

*raises hand* I loved almost the entire thing. Sure, there were moments I wasn't too keen on, but take parts away and you'd damage the whole. Really hoping we get more of the same at Christmas and again next year!

It really depends how long we have Matt's Doctor, right now I think Pattinson is too young but who knows once he gets to Matt's age? Trouble is, no matter how good he may be in the role, there will always be a) Anti-Twilight brigade hating him for that and b) the more, um, 'involved' Twilight fans hating him for not being a vampire.

*Raises hand* I will! Seems like forever since it was last on, not counting repeats!

Sorry for double post, can't edit on mobile site. Obviously meant Stuart before. :-)

My daughter says the guy who played Caleb in Mission:2110 (Stuarrt Goldsmith) - that character is very Doctor-like already.

I'd like it to be someone who isn't very well-known, not a complete beginner but not a huge star either, no names really come to mind though.
51  Travels In Time And Space / Mission To The Unknown / Re: What aliens/villains would you like to see in season 6? on: September 05, 2010, 05:19:03 pm
My vote goes to... The woman outside Budgens with the mental Jack Russell :-)
52  Fanatical For Who / Appreciation Threads / Re: The "We Love Rory" Thread on: September 05, 2010, 05:10:34 pm
Facing off against the stone Dalek is certainly one of my favourites (I'm not going to mention the uniform. Damn, just did.)

The bit in Cold Blood, while heroic, is still painful to watch even after The Big Bang. This week's DWA has a couple of pages on that scene :-(

Has anyone read The Glamour Chase? Lots for Rory to do in that, he gets his chance to be clever.
53  Travels In Time And Space / The Greatest Show In The Galaxy / Re: Would you like to see a multi Doctor story for the 50th anniversary? on: September 05, 2010, 04:36:18 pm
Here's a thought... If it's multi-Doctor and multi-companion, who's Eight bringing along?

And he thinks the character is called Doctor Who.
55  Travels In Time And Space / The Greatest Show In The Galaxy / Re: Canon and 'The Reboot' on: September 05, 2010, 03:57:01 pm
I wonder if this Doctor, brought back by Amy, is technically in a 'first' body again? After all, he ceased to exist entirely for a while. Could be a stopgap for the limited regenerations rule.
56  The Leisure Hive / Satellite Five / What was your first sci-fi? on: September 05, 2010, 03:53:54 pm
I'm guessing most people here are into other speculative fiction, not just DW, so what first got you into it? My first series was The X Files. Saw it when I was about 13 and got hooked, and carried on even when it stopped being popular (wasn't fun avoiding spoilers from people who'd seen it on Sky, though!)
57  Travels In Time And Space / Doctor Who In The News / Re: Telegraph want Adventure Games axed on: September 05, 2010, 12:17:43 pm
I suppose none of it came from the money they make off merchandise etc? Actually, without the bit about the news website it sounds like yet another anti-videogame rant disguised as concern over public spending. (Though as a gamer I'm sensitive to rants of that sort, so might be imagining some of it)
58  Travels In Time And Space / The Greatest Show In The Galaxy / Re: Would you like to see a multi Doctor story for the 50th anniversary? on: September 05, 2010, 01:12:13 am
I like the idea of a Master who's learned to control his regeneration enough to choose how he looks/sounds, and it would be wonderfully evil of him to come back looking like a former Doctor!

Come to think of it, a Tennant Master would be the most cruel, seeing as he didn't want to regenerate. (Yes, I know the Master couldn't have known that, but still)
59  The Leisure Hive / Satellite Five / Re: Star Trek on: September 04, 2010, 01:02:25 pm
Another fan right here! TNG was my first and still my favourite.

By the way, someone behind the scenes on TNG was a DW fan - freeze-frame on the damily tree in "The Neutral Zone" and you'll see what I mean :-)

No drinking for an hour before it comes on, that's one of my rules - not just for me, I do NOT want to be interrupted by your elephant impression as you run up/down the stairs.
