RTD said that they were the inspiration behind the Ood and why he made the link in Planet of the Ood, but I prefer the Sensorites I think and I'd love to see them come back. Maybe even in a story with the Ood. I think they wouldn't even need a redesign because they look great.

I don't think that's very fair. It's not among the best but it's nowhere near that bad.

Love the First Doctor a lot and I think that he is great in this story. It's not his best or my favourite, but still very enjoyable to watch him in this.

Bit of a drop in ratings there. I'm guessing this one didn't go over too well with fans.

I think Barbara is fantastic and one of the best companions of the 60s. She was absent from a fair bit of this story but when she was around she was as excellent as ever.

The original title of the episode was to be Mind Control

I'd have to agree with this. He didn't get sidelined too often, but it was noticeable when he did.

In both this and The Keys of Marinus, one of the main cast doesn't appear for two episodes.

The Doctor: Yes, it all started as a mild curiosity in a junkyard and now its turned out to be quite a great spirit of adventure, don't you think?

I'm going with a 3 for this story. I do enjoy it, but I think that the story is a tad too long and as a result it can't sort of carry it's own weight. Had it been shorter then there may have been a tighter, stronger story and the score may have been higher.

Do you think that something like we see in this episode would actually be likely to happen in modern day Britain? I don't just mean the relocation and stuff like that, but people living on top of each other, martial law, minorities shipped off to work camps and such. I actually find that stuff quite scary, which may be part of the reason I love the episode.
