Waaaaaay better

I don't want to sound mean, but what the hell was going on with her mouth? It was like she'd had a local anesthetic before filming began.

For me, one of the finest performances from a companion that we have seen. Catherine Tate wowed nearly everyone with her range, which I think also shocked most people. She covers it all in this episode and was absolutely spot on with every single line throughout.

I love Ten, but this episode showed that Donna could more than carry it on her own and I think that it was stronger without him in it so much.

Wilf: That's what they called it last time...

Donna: Oh, don't tell me... The hospital's back! Well, isn't that wizard!

Maybe ^^ that one is a blooper for the VOTD story.

In Voyage of the Damned the Doctor says that if the ship crashed into Earth it would wipe out the entire planet, but when it does so in this story it's mainly Southern England that gets affected.

The story is quite specific about big events that would have changed had the Doctor not been there, and obviously they weren't going to add all of them in, but surely one they missed a trick on was the Daleks showing up in S3. If the Doctor hadn't been there then surely they'd have just wiped the Earth out.

I tried to think of a reason why I shouldn't give this full marks, but I just couldn't think of one. The story is fantastic, the acting is great, the 'what if' scenarios that are set up are believable and awesome to watch and the whole thing just comes together brilliantly. And dare I say it, but this was all the better for having no Doctor in it.
