6301  Travels In Time And Space / The Crusade / Re: The Daleks on: September 11, 2010, 05:35:26 pm
Lots of people have said they feel the same, though I think if used in the right story they could be terrifying again. Regardless of their look, they havent really been used in a threatening or scary manner for a long while. I think the story makes a lot of difference to how they are perceived

Thanks everyone Smiley

Welcome aboard Smiley

I was tempted to try and write something in French, but I am rubbish at the language Cheesy

I wouldnt worry, My French is rusty enough. I hardly use it anymore. Only to show off with Tongue

Nice to see you here  Smiley

Love the avatar/banner btw Cool

Thanks. Though I only cropped an existing photo to make it, so I kinda cheated Cheesy
6303  Travels In Time And Space / Inside The Attic / Re: Luke Smith in series 4 on: September 11, 2010, 12:59:31 pm
I heard that the actor is leaving to do his exams or something. Though in the show I think they have skipped a year as he apparantly leaves by driving off in his new car. I didnt even think he was old enough to drive, let alone pass his test already. Does he even drive in real life?
6304  Travels In Time And Space / The Invasion Of Time / Re: What is your favourite classic story? on: September 11, 2010, 12:54:20 pm
I have recently started watching classic episodes and I havent seen many yet, but so far my favourite story has been Silver Nemesis. I only got it about 2 weeks ago, but it was great and have watched it twice so far

Hi, I'm JJ. I was born in Paris, France but I have lived in Brighton since I was 6. I am a massive Dalek fan and I love Doctor Who. I became a fan in 2005 when Christopher Eccleston was the Doctor and I loved him, though my favourite is Matt Smith now. My favourite story is The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances. I don't know what else to put, so that will have to do for now Smiley

6308  Travels In Time And Space / Mission To The Unknown / Re: How Will You Be Watching The Xmas Ep? on: September 11, 2010, 12:39:05 pm
My partner and I will be watching it together once all the food and drink has been consumed and we are pigged out on the sofa. The phone will be muted, the doors locked, and we will be set. Doctor Who really has become a huge part of christmas for me. I love the specials, even if I dont always love them. If you get me?
6309  Travels In Time And Space / Series 5 / Re: POLL: Favourite Series 5 Story on: September 11, 2010, 12:32:06 pm
I went with the Silurian two parter. I know it went down like a lead balloon, but I thought it was brilliant. I loved the character dynamics and it was great seeing a classic monster that I had never seen before.
6310  Travels In Time And Space / The Greatest Show In The Galaxy / Re: How long have you been watching Doctor Who? on: September 11, 2010, 12:29:01 pm
Id seen it before, but I became a fan in 2005. Im currently working my way backwards through the Doctors. Have done 8, 7 and 6 so far. Not sure why im doing them in reverse though Cheesy
6311  Travels In Time And Space / The Greatest Show In The Galaxy / Re: Assuming they'd say yes.. Other new writers for DW on: September 11, 2010, 12:26:32 pm
Joss Whedon. All his previous work has been amazing and he is so imaginitive. He could do amazing things for the show
6312  76 Totter's Lane / The War Games / Re: The Adventure Games on: September 11, 2010, 12:24:18 pm
The first game was the best by miles. The second was ok, and that third was pretty awful. Ive played the first one about 6 times, though never gone back to the others. I hope the last one is just as good as the first.
6313  Travels In Time And Space / The Greatest Show In The Galaxy / Re: Doctor Who Proms 2010 on: September 11, 2010, 12:22:29 pm
I was so impressed with this years show. The little boy MS pulled out of the audience had me in stitches. And Matt was quick thinking with his improv. I would have loved to have been 6 or 7 years old and attending that. It would have blown my mind
6314  Travels In Time And Space / The Tin Dog / Re: The Redesign on: September 11, 2010, 12:11:37 pm
I understand why they did the redesign. From what I know, there is no mention of Doctor Who in the new series, so from an Australian audience POV, they may not know there is any connection and so a retro 70's looking prop would look really random in a new show.

From a Doctor Who fans POV though I can understand why the design is hated. Personally the retro look is what I love about K9 and I think the redesign makes him look a bit too futuristic and silly. I havent watched the show, but I have seen a clip, and it just doesnt look right.
6315  Travels In Time And Space / The Crusade / Re: The Daleks on: September 11, 2010, 12:06:29 pm
I love the new Daleks. Absolutely love them. I wont mind if they hold them back for a series, because when they reappear again it will no doubt be in an epic story. I know the new look is a bit clunky and many say it is to sell toys, but I think they look great. They are bigger and more imposing and the colours are great. I miss the swivelling midsection I must be honest, but I think these ones, given the right story could be truly terrifying. We only saw them all at once during series 5, but in the games when they sectioned off by colour and doing their own thing that each colour reprisents, they made more sense. I know there is a lot of hate for the new colours, but I really think they look ace
