So Torchwood is all set to return but it looks as if it's going to be a very different show to the one we know.

Is this a good thing or a bad thing in your opinion?

I'm reserving my judgement but I know there are people out there with thoughts both ways - so go on discuss ...

I think it'll be good, but expect that RTD will put us through the ringer in a way that makes CoE look like a picnic.

Just my gut feeling.

I can't wait!  best description of COE I read was "I felt like RTD knocked on my door, I opened it and he hit me hard in the guts" it was BRILLIANT! Best TV I'd seen in years, led to debates of how would you choose, bloody amazing TV!

The Doctor: Do you know like we were saying, about the earth revolving? It's like when you're a kid, the first time they tell you that the world is turning and you just can't quite believe it 'cause everything looks like it's standing still. I can feel it.

I absolutely can't wait for Torchwood 4! I love RTD's writing and I am quite sure it will be another hell of a ride! Grin

I can't wait. The last series set a hugh bar but I'm sure Rusty is going to smash it this year. And with the writers in board I'm sure it won't dissapoint. Just wish we had more info or spoilers.

THIS!

There is no way he is going to let us off the hook and go tamer than the last series. He will pull every punch he can until we are all one collective gibbering mess Tongue

I can't wait to see it. Whether it flops or not. I don't think it will but I'm more interested in seeing how they can continue the story after CoE...I've always liked RTD's writing so it'll be interesting to see where he takes the story.

I'm so glad that Jane Espenson is on board too, hopefully her influence will calm some of Rusty's more elaborate style down a little.  She's writing 3 eps isn't she?  That's nearly a third of the show so I'm expecting great things.

It doesn't leave much for the others. I'd assume RTD is doing at least 3 too so doesn't leave much for the others

That's what I've been thinking, if the guest writer all so 3 each that leaves one for RTD, plus the rewrites ofc.  Sounds ideal Cheesy

I didn't even think of that I hope rtd is more hands on than that though and does more episodes.

I personal hopes he concentrates on the rewrites more than doing a lot of the scripts from scrap.  The way CoE was done was brilliant, his influence on tying the whole plot together was very noticable to me, and sorely missing in S1 and 2 when Chibnall was in charge.

I think he could manage the rewrites and do a couple of episodes on top. He managed with DW and that was easily equal, or more of a workload than Torchwood
