She just gets better as she goes on. I didn't love the love story but I do love that she came out the other side better for it

RTD has said a few times that he loves unrequited love stories and it shows. Martha and the Doctor in DW, Vince and Stuart in QAF, Bob and Rose in Bob and Rose etc. The others were endearing but this one just didnt work and Martha came off as the bad guy which wasnt fair

I just got to the end of series 3 this evening and Martha has now soared into the top spot for me. Such a brilliant companion. Selfless, brave, intelligent. I could go on all night. She more than proved her worth throughout the series and it's just a shame that her stint was so short. I like Rose, but I dont see how people could think she was better than Martha. What she did for the Doctor and the Earth was brilliant and unlike her predecessor she had no selfish intentions whatsoever. It was sad to see her leave but she did it with such dignity and pride that you were left willing her to go and be brilliant and I'm sure she was. Much Martha love from me Smiley

Agreed, she was an awesome character.

Just got into the Matt Smith era, but couldn't help to put my fist in the air and yell with joy for her at the scene at the end of 'The End of Time.'

Martha Jones is my absolute favourite companion. I can't wait for the day, a few years down the line, when they bring her back for a story like a 'classic' companion. She went on such a journey and had a brilliant story of strength and empowerment and I think of all the recent companions would probably be the best role model for young girls. Loved her

I couldn't agree with you more. I would love to see her return to the show and I do think that she was probably closest to a role model of all the companions since the show returned. That said though, I suppose it comes down the the type of person you would choose to look upto.

Way too underrated an actress and companion

I want Martha back. I've been rewatching S3 over the last few days and I think she needs to pop in again for a guest episode to share some of her awesome
