Love them or hate them?
Since Moffat took over as showrunner we have seen a vast increase in arcs running throughout Doctor Who, but do you like them, or would you rather go back to standard episodic story telling?
While RTD was in charge the series and episodes were loosely connected with overall arce such as Bad Wolf or Saxon, but on the whole you could sit down with most episodes and they were stand alone. With Moff, we have the whole River story, we had the Pandorica arc, the Silents etc, and they are even crossing series as well as episodes. But do you think they are a good idea or would you rather go back to the 'story of the week' format?

I'm actually a little torn on this topic..... I kind of like both I'm fascinated with Rivers - although I have to admit I want the pay off for the wait now. I could say the same about The Silence if I'm honest. I suppose the question of whether they need to be carried over is debatable - would they be any less exciting/intriguing if they were wrapped up in one series? Hmmm.....

I think a mixture of both works quite well. Even with series arcs you can have the 'story of the week.' I enjoy it when other shows I watch do that, so as long as it's done well I'm fine with the arcs. I don't personally see a need for either one or the other to be the norm.
That said ... I do hate it when storylines drag on too long (not that I can define what 'too long' is but I know it when I've reached it!)

I love them to be honest. I love the way that it makes you think throughout the whole series as to what it may be, but I guess that there is a point when it does get annoying, like the whole River thing is starting to annoy me a little now, we've seen her in 6 episodes now, so why don't you just tell us what is going on?!
But other than that I love the continuity through the series, and I love the way that it makes you think, as well as the fact that it kinda messes with your mind too. But then again, normal episodes are great too, as the people who don't pick out certain things that much don't miss anything which is perhaps crucial to what is going to happen at some point in the series.
