Dalek Invasion of Earth - a story so good they made it into an equally brilliant film! Marco Polo is a brilliant story and the soundtrack promises something very special. But Dalek Invasion of Earth is my favourite Hartnell story Just that moment where the Dalek comes up out of the water - they don't get more iconic

I'm voting The Dalek Invasion of Earth - purely because that quote is an all time classic! I feel bad for Marco Polo as it's supposed to be a belter and we'll never know (cheers BBC!)
(from wiki); Although no clips from this serial survive, a condensed 30-minute reconstruction was included on The Beginning, using production photographs, telesnaps and parts of the soundtrack (which survives and has been released on CD in its entirety).
In fact, you can get the full-length version of that reconstruction, which is absolutely brilliant. Still, maybe just because it exists in full, The Dalek Invasion of Earth

The Dalek Invasion of Earth exterminates (sorry!) the opposition 10-1 to advance. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Round 1 Battle 03 The Keys of Marinus Vs The Romans The Keys of Marinus"I don't believe that man was made to be controlled by machines. Machines can make laws but they cannot preserve justice. Only human beings can do that." First Transmitted: The Sea of Death - 11/04/1964 17:30 The Velvet Web - 18/04/1964 17:30 The Screaming Jungle - 25/04/1964 17:30 The Snows of Terror - 02/05/1964 17:30 Sentence of Death - 09/05/1964 17:15 The Keys of Marinus - 16/05/1964 17:15 PlotThe TARDIS arrives on the planet Marinus on an island of glass surrounded by a sea of acid. The travellers are forced by the elderly Arbitan to retrieve four of the five operating keys to a machine called the Conscience of Marinus, of which he is the keeper. These have been hidden in different locations around the planet to prevent them falling into the hands of the evil Yartek and his Voord warriors, who plan to seize the machine and use its originally benevolent mind-influencing power for their own sinister purposes. VS The Romans"Caesar Nero. I've always wanted to put on a good show; to give a great performance. After all, who knows, if I go down well, I might even make it my farewell performance. You see, I've always wanted to be considered as an artist of some taste, generally considered as palatable, hmm?"First Transmitted The Slave Traders - 16/01/1965 17:40 All Roads Lead to Rome - 23/01/1965 17:40 Conspiracy - 30/01/1965 17:40 Inferno - 06/02/1965 17:40 PlotThe four time travellers are enjoying a rare holiday, staying at a villa not far from Rome in the year 64 AD. The Doctor soon becomes restless and sets off to visit the city, taking Vicki with him. In their absence, Ian and Barbara are kidnapped by slave traders. You have approximately 24 hours to vote for either The Keys of Marinus or The Romans

Keys of Marinus. I like both, but Keys was one that stuck hard in my memory from the original viewing.
