Tenure: 1996
Stories: 1
Episodes: 1
Companions: Grace

The Eighth Doctor encouraged those around him to seize life instead of withdrawing from it. He also seemed to enjoy giving people hints of their own futures, probably to prod them into making the right decisions. It is unclear if the eighth Doctor's knowledge of people's futures comes from historical expertise, psychic power or precognitive ability.

As with the Fifth Doctor, the debonair Eighth Doctor's youthful, wide-eyed enthusiasm actually hid a very old soul with perhaps a darker side

I agree. Would be so good to see Eight pop up in the new series. Been such a wasted opportunity so far but I am holding out hope for the 50th

Eight was a great Doctor and I do think they missed a trick by not giving him more screen time. They have to find a way to bring him back somehow.

Not a great fan of McGann/8 or the movie but you have to give him credit for his outstanding commitment to BF and as an ambassador to DW in general.  Cool

It is my understanding that he has no problem in being a part of any 50th anniversary celebrations/events...whatever they turn out to be...but that in spite of the massive call from fans for his return in any other respect....not a hope Sad

Interestingly there was some speculation awhile back that McGann would play both 8/9 incarnations in the event of a tv tribute for the anniversary. Shocked

Nice one Mr McGann Wink

A great performance on the movie, despite its script. I love McGann's radio dramas- they're superb. Yet with the gained insight into his character with these dramas, I still find the 8th incarnation's personality very difficult to describe. He's got an intense emotional honesty, a bit vulnerable in that way but strong at the same time- not like the 5th's vulnerability.

Today, the Kaled race is ended, consumed in a fire of war. But, from its ashes will rise a new race. The supreme creature. The ultimate conqueror of the universe. The Dalek!
