I've seen a couple of different mugs recently that I am coveting madly. Firstly this one: which isn't out for another month or two, but I'm going to have buy two so I can have mah coffee in one and the other to stand proudly on my shelf And then there's this one: Who doesn't love a heat changing mug, lol.

OMG they are excellent - shame I took a vow not to buy any more mugs. Hmm maybe if I tell myself they are not mugs they are merchandise ...

I bought a Dr Who Easter Egg with a special Davros mug inside. It was in Sainsbury's for 99p (reduced after Easter). I bought two (having to invent nephews as the girl on the checkout looked suspiciously at me). There was an egg of below Cadbury's standard of chocolate which was gone in 3 mouthfuls and a Davros cup which is too small for anything other than an espresso with lots of milk. Not since I was 8 and bought a box of Star Trek the Motion Picture Lollies which had exciting pictures of the new Enterprise bridge on the front was I more disappointed. Upon consuming said lollies, I discovered they were sub-standard mini milks the only connection they had to Star Trek TMP was that they had pictures of Leonard 'Bones' McCoy on the stick - two of which I had already thrown out of the car window. You'd have thought i'd learned my lesson with merchandise but to quote the philosopher George Santayana 'Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it'

I am sorry to announce that at 6.23pm GMT tonight, I broke my Davros mug by sitting on it accidentally.

How do you not realise you are about to sit on a mug? Were you climbing over the table or something

How do you not realise you are about to sit on a mug? Were you climbing over the table or something It is a tragic tale involving me leaving it on a chair, moving a cushion on top of it (for reasons I won't go in to) forgetting the mug was under the cushion and then, in the final act of this morality tale, sitting on said cushion. It was not my finest hour.

I severly hope there isnt a need for stitches! Though I cant help laughing at the thought there might be, just for the thought of explaining to a paramedic what the naughty Davros had done to you

Fortunately I have a corpulent rear end so the shards of mug had many cms to go before hitting an artery (on a side note do we have arteries in our posterior - i'm just asking in case I leave my Anthony Ainley action figure under a cushion)

As far as I am aware, there are no arteries in the buttucks. They are mainly made up of fat, tissue and muscle I havent done a study on arses or anything

The mugs are okay but I actually prefer some of the fan made mugs that you can get, something with a bit more of thought in them and ones that can only be *truly* appreciated by a fan, such as 'the angels have the phone box' logo.
