I don't especially like the films, although Peter Cushing was as excellent as ever.  I prefer the second one, partly because I thought Bernard Cribbens slotted in much better than Roy Castle as the semi-comic character.  Roy Castle was just being silly all the time, whereas Cribbens had a comedy scene or two, but played the character pretty well the rest of the time.  Also (without giving spoilers) there's one scene in the first film I can't forgive them for copping out on, compared with the incredibly moving version in the original.
