I've wanted to watch the dalek invasion of earth for a while now, but I was just wondering is there anyone who has saw it? And if so, what would you rate it out of 10?

I've yet to watch (hangs head in shame) but it won round 2 of the story battle 10-1 if that's any indication?

I love this story so much. Such iconic imagery throughout. The Dalek coming out of the Thames. Barbara running through London and the Daleks in Trafalgar Square. The flying saucers This is one of my favourite Dalek stories and one of the strongest of the Hartnell years imo. For those who like this story, you should also check out 'Lucie Miller' which is a sort of sequel to this story from Big Finish. It came out about 2 months ago and sees Eight and Lucie meeting up with Susan and her son during the second Dalek invasion. Carole Ann Ford is brilliant in it. They really should get her back on the show.

I was going to call this story overrated, but then I realized that as I am wont to do, I mixed it up with The Dalek's Master Plan. But yes, The Dalek Invasion of Earth is brilliant. A good story in any medium, improved by being Doctor Who. And of course the iconic scenes of the Daleks (bongos!) and Hartnell's speech. I should rewatch this one sometime.

Today, the Kaled race is ended, consumed in a fire of war. But, from its ashes will rise a new race. The supreme creature. The ultimate conqueror of the universe. The Dalek!

It's a good story but the major fault with it, from my point of view at least, is that like many of the earlier stories it could have done with tightening up. One episode less would have sped the plot up nicely.

I'm in the middle of a rewatch of this at the moment. I did three episodes last night and will do the rest today. I'm not enjoying it as much this time around though. I've seen it a couple of times and always had fond memories of it, but this latest watch feels like it's dragging out a bit, which is why I didn't finish it in one go. Most stories I like more the more I watch, but this one seems to be falling down in favour.

Maybe it's just the mood you were in at the time. I did a rewatch just before Christmas and I loved it, whereas usually I'm not that keen.
