I know old Rusty has said its not happening in the next series, but he did also say that as soon as there is a story for him, he will have him back as he loves working with James Marsters (possible hint that there will be a fifth series??)
Anyways, I just had Buffy on in the background and was thinking how I would really like to see him return. What do you think? Still room for development or done and dusted?

Actually watching Buffy myself right now - Series 5 though, not the best, for the most part.
The Body is amazing though.

No, please god no! He was an awful character, representative of the mostly awful series 2, a stupid half-parody of Jack and is best forgotten.

There is always room for character development but personally I really liked John from the first and was surprised that he didn't appear more in the series. I know I've watched the episodes with him in them the most and have shown them to people who hadn't seen Torchwood before as an example of what I like about the show. And the RP and fanfic of him is what I enjoyed reading the most, since it exhibits the action and relationship aspect of the show rather than the dark territory series 3 became. Overall, I'd say more John and Gwen as well as Jack is what I'd look for in new Torchwood stories.

This needs to happen. I was recently rewatching S2 and I liked his character so much more than when I first watched. And James Marsters is a genius in any role

Captain John returning would be a dream come true, I hope he does make a repeat appearance in future episodes. He was blooming amazing in the Hawaii five-0 pilot |

I would LOVE to see John return. He should come back as a member of team Torchwood. And maybe, over time, something could happen between Jack & John. Not too soon though. Don't want John thinking he's Jacks rebound lover lol. And just for the record, James Marsters Rocks!! << Had to get that in there lol. |
