Synopsis for the finale, Goodbye Sarah Jane Smith

Sarah Jane faces her saddest day, as she realises that no one can defend the Earth forever, as the alien-busting adventure series concludes. Im guessing that since her name is in the title we will be seeing the Trickster again

I think the finale, assuming everything isnt resolved by the end, would have had more punch if we didnt know series 5 had been commisioned with her in it.

Saying that though, there has been lots of talk lately about the show without her and we dont know that she is actually in it I guess. The first half was filmed in with S4 so we wouldnt really know what was filmed for what and whether she was included in bits that were for 4 or 5. Maybe she will go?

It could happen I guess. Im not saying it will or should, but you never know! There have been quite a few interviews recently where they have mentioned what would happen should Lis Sladen leave so it would tie in I guess. Massive leap of logic, but meh

Well I think they should at least cut it off and make it a new show with Rani and Clyde.

Don't keep calling it the Sarah Jane Adventures, with no Sarah Jane.


With that being said, I don't think its gonna happen. I think the finale title/synopsis is a massive RTD-style mislead, and the Trickster erases her or something, and she'll be back.

I've seen early set reports about the half of season 5 already filmed and Lis was there so.........

Wasnt it filmed out of order though? I know one of the later weeks of filming was where Tommy Knight did the driving scene which was in the first story. The last week of filming, on location at least, took place under a bridge near the stadium. We havent seen that yet so could be for the end of 4, or for somewhere in 5. Incidently, it was the same bridge they used for the scene in Ghost Machine in Torchwood

I think, as Iceman said, there could be room for a Rani and Clyde show. They have great chemistry and work well together so I think it could work, but there would definately have to be a name change on the show

AFAIK they have filmed the first 4 and the last 2 eps already of next year.  I think there's gonna be a change up somewhere next series, and all these hints about SJS leaving are just another 507 regen rumour to get fans talking.
