Life and Laughing by Michael Macintyre. I started it last Christmas but only did one chapter so I restarted it again last night.

I usually find him quite funny but his book was quite annoying I thought. He mas making a joke in every other sentence, which wouldn't be so bad but some of them were really repetative and not funny. On top of that it felt like the jokes were only in there as a way of masking the fact that for the first 30 of his 35 years, he didn't really do anything and so it was a bit low on actual content. Some of it was brilliant but in all fairness it was probably a bit early in his career to be writing an autobiography and I think it only got written because of the success of his DVD.

I think you are probably right. I'm three quarters of the way through now and he is still only 17. I also agree about the constant jokes, but I am trying to read it more like a standup routine, if that makes sense. I hit a paragraph last night that took me about 20 minutes to complete. I was hysterical with laughter and so had to stop reading until I calmed down, but as soon as I would return to it to try and finish the paragraph I would start all over again. It was so funny.
