I'm reading Labyrinth by Kate Mosse - wanted to read it before I watch the TV adaptation.

Casual Vacancy... I started it a few days ago, but I'm really really struggling to get in to it Same. I'm about 200 pages in but it's not amazing. Yes it has her great writing style which I see, but the plot is very dull and most (if not all?) of the characters are unlikeable. It's not 'grown up' in terms of the story but just the language, really. A shame.

I just couldn't understand the words!

I've been meaning the read the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan for a few years, but I have finally got round to ordering the first one off Amazon and reading it, and by the time I was halfway through had already ordered the second.
I am now on the 4th book and have the first 7 (out of 14 books in the series) on my bookshelf, so my 'currently reading' is currently:
The Shadow Rising, by Robert Jordan
I expect I'll finish book 14 in about 6 months...

Hmm what have I read the past few months?
I read Dan Brown's Inferno which was decent enough and fairly fast-paced, but felt more of a tourist guide to Florence/Venice and art history. Nothing new from his other books really, same old.
I finally finished the fourth book in the A Song of Ice and Fire series (aka the Game of Thrones series) titled A Feast For Crows which was such a disappointment after the first 3 excellent books. Not a lot happened in most chapters, I didn't like the one-off character chapters or the chapters given a different name (just call Arya Arya, not Cat of the Canals) especially when the new characters had different names used. I totally lost the Dornish chapters and had to read a summary of what actually happened to Arianne when I finished on Wiki.
So I'm now part of the way into book 5 A Dance With Dragons.
I also read book 7 in the Henderson's Boys series (Hannah do you read these?) One Shot Kill which was decent, and I'm now onto the final book of the series Scorched Earth.
I also finished my umpteenth reread of HP&Philosopher's Stone and I've started HP&Chamber of Secrets.
Not sure how I have 3 on the go haha. And I've just ordered JK's new pseudonym book so I'll be reading that soon too!

I've got the first 3 books (The Escape, Eagle Day and Secret Army) but I've never actually read them. I bought them because I thought they'd be like the CHERUB books (which they're kind of advertised as) but from reading the blurbs of them I'm not actually convinced. Am I wrong?

I would say Secret Army is the most like CHERUB, in that they're given a mission to carry out etc etc and it's less part of the overall story. But it is very similar and very Muchamore. I think the series gets better as it progresses, and I'm really glad I'm reading these last two back-to-back so I remember all the characters etc. I'm excited to see how it'll end. If you like CHERUB I really think these will get you hooked too.

Yeah I was considering that as it's now paperback. Only problem with him doing them hardcover is that now there's such a gap between books I can't remember anything what happened in the last book or who the new characters are.

I'm now about 75 pages into JK Rowling's The Cuckoo Calling. It's better so far than A Casual Vacancy, and the story is fairly intriguing.
She seems to write in really really long sentences though sometimes in this book... or is that just me being tired reading on my night shift? Anyone else read it?
