We've all seen them haven't we?

The modern item that appears during a historical drama. The microphone that drops into shot. The amazing props that appear & disappear as the camera angle changes. The characters who change clothes when they go outside but are miraculously back in their original outfit when they come back inside. The list is endless.

I even noticed one the other day on a show about movie mistakes!!!

This is a thread where you can share any that you spot - you can either tell us all about it or post a video/picture.

I'll share two to get us started.

First up one you may all know about from Star Wars. This one of a stormtrooper hitting his head became so popular & well known that by the time the later releases of the film came around the clear 'clunk' sound as he does it has been added in.

The second one comes from an episode of The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes which I watched yesterday:

In 'The Creeping Man' Holmes is shown reading an article in the Evening Standard about a recent monkey theft. As the camera briefly shows the article it can be clearly seen that the article claims the monkey to have been stolen from Lonon Zoo - given that Holmes then gets to the zoo very quickly & Scotland Yard based detective Lestrade is investigating I think it is safe to assume it should have said London Zoo.

Didn't know about that one  Smiley

One I do know about from Gladiator is this though - during the Rome vs. Carthage battle one of the chariots crashes & as it flips a blanket lifts up revealing a large tank and some pipe fittings underneath the chariot.

This is such a well known mistake that I thought (or maybe hoped) that when the Special Edition was released it would have been sorted - but no, it's still there!  Undecided

There are a few funny ones I've noticed in Harry Potter and the Philosoper's Stone... like random changing sides of tables half way through the meal!

There is a shot in Titanic where you can see Rose running along the corridors just as the water is coming in and she is wearing trainers

Continuing with the Titanic theme, when Jack and Rose are running through the ship but stop to talk to that man by the clock in the restaraunt as its sinking, you can see some strings pulling ornaments off the mantle.

Also, in The Wizard Of Oz, towards the end when the Wizzard is in the balloon, there is a long shot where you can see the Tin Man untying the ropes to let it loose

Also saw it before, but saw it again last night!

In "The Parting Of the Ways" (S1 E13) There is the BAD WOLF painted on the floor of the playground where Rose and Mickey are... then.... in "New Earth" (S2 E1) when Jackie and Mickey are saying bye to Rose and she goes into the TARDIS as the TARDIS wooshes away there on the ground you can still make out BAD WOLF!  Cheesy

Is that a continuity error or deliberate though? Huh?

I think is a mistake, I can't remember where I read it or heard it... I think it was either in one of the magazines or on confidential!

There's an ep of Morse on at the mo (Driven to Distraction) & in the titles at the start it said

Based on characters created by Alan Dexter

And there was silly old me thinking Morse was created by Colin Dexter - that's what it says on our books anyway!!!  Tongue

Just been watching an old episode of Friends (The One After 'I Do') & noticed for the first time that Monica has an absolutely amazing wedding present - it seems to be able to wrap & unwrap itself at will!

Monica clearly unwraps the present & several times is seen leaning on the unwrapped box but when the camera goes to Phoebe & Rachel & the present is less in shot it is still wrapped. As the shots go back & forth the present constantly changes between wrapped & unwrapped. Later in the scene there is a wide shot of the room & the present is shown as wrapped again.

Where do you get these self wrapping presents?!  Tongue

There's one in the Lois & Clark ep "Stop the Presses" where their boss (I should remember his name - I don't, sorry!) is packing things away and a painting mysteriously turns around.
