Not sure if this is a mistake and therefore belongs here but - the TARDIS showed up in the alternate time stream/universe thing.  So, does that mean that when the Doctor, Amy and Rory leave from there, they are now traveling in an alternate universe?  Just typing that made my head hurt.

Ooh good point! I'm not sure if maybe it wouldnt count because even though they were on the other ship, they were still in the spot where the two meet, but if it is significant then it might come into play with the
alternate reality stuff that the series is meant to be about
Oh, another thing - the aliens they found on the ship had died and decayed long ago, and yet the "alien bogeys" were still moist?  C'mon, they would have dried up long ago!

Why does the siren explode a pirate and all his clothes, but leave his hat unscathed?

Why does Rory start breathing again after Amy stops resussitating him?

Why can't the Doctor cure Toby's fever?

I Don't think she actually cures them, I think that she was just putting the illness into a sort of stasis while he was aboard the ship, which is why he had to stay. The others just had cuts and didnt need curing

Why does Rory start breathing again after Amy stops resussitating him?

The resuscitation process is mainly used to make sure that oxygen is kept within the patients blood stream and that the blood stream is kept in circulation to the heart and the brain. Despite what you see in films its very unlikely to restart the heart and bring someone back to life. If we assume Rory's heart was stopped then he would probably be dead now without them also giving him a hit with the defibrilator. Decompressions could have been enough to dislodge any water left blocking the airways, effectively upping his chances of breathing on his own but going on the length of time he was away from the spaceships sick bay, his real life chance of survival would be slim. It is possible for breathing to return after CPR has been stopped, but as CPR goes that was a pretty bad portrayal.

Hahah I was saying that on the rewatch the other day! Pretty bad showing of CPR by the BBC! Where was the tilting the head back, the pinching the nose! Plus they did the wrong number of chest compressions to the number of breaths!  Sad Angry

You could hear her hands slapping as she "compressed".

I was saying to my Uncle, she should have done a double handed whack of despair which caused him to spurt out the last bit of water.... *sigh* VERY disappointed Wink

Is that a reply to my point?  I meant the Doctor, not the Siren.  I'm pretty sure he'd have something in the Tardis's med-kit that could cure Toby - a good antibiotic would probably do it.
