Better late than never me getting to this...

I did enjoy the episode but I didn't LOVE it.  I loved the Silurian and Jenny - that was cool.  And the Sontaran nurse was just perfect.  I liked the pacing and the writing and I was engaged through the whole episode.  My disappointment is with the River Song reveal.  It was exactly what I thought it would be which was kind of a let down.  I had wanted to be surprised with a 'I didn't see that coming moment' but that didn't happen.

With those of you saying that this reveal may be a red herring, I have some hope that my mind will be changed during the second half of the series.  But for now I have to give this a 4 not a 5.

Right um, seeing as I've actually now watched this properly since the airing I'm ready to give my opinion. Right...

I was pretty confused with this episode as @poprockgeek will tell you! Tongue She spent ages explaining stuff to me which I didn't understand! Yes I know I'm pretty dim! Tongue  Embarrassed I got lost and even now with my head not in exam mode I'm still pretty lost with it! Sad

I really enjoyed the ending though, but for a kind of mini end of series I was disappointed that so many questions have been left unanswered. But in the end I did kinda enjoy the ending, so I'm going to give it, 3  Smiley

I rewatched this a few days ago when it was repeated on Watch. It was the first time I've watched it in ages and it still holds up. I was gripped like I'd never seen it before. Definitely still would get a 5 from me.

I put this on round my grandad's. He has consistently refused to watch Matt Smith's era - yes, my grandad is a Tennant fanboy! Anyway, he was watching it quite happily then suddenly seemed to realise he was watching a Matt Smith episode, and more than that enjoying it, so he stopped watching & started doing something else. Was both amusing & annoying - really wish he'd give Matt a chance.

Haha the stubbornness of the elderly. He should give it a go though. Was he a fan before Tennant?

Yeah he used to watch it right back when it started. Hartnell is his absolute favourite Doctor, apparently, though how he can remember that when he can't remember watching the same eps of Star Trek twice in as many days is beyond me (he's not senile, he just has a really bad memory - always has had!) I think he has a tendency towards the whole 'things were better back in the day' that a lot of old people have. He really liked Tennant though & made a snap judgement on Matt I think - I've seen him do it with other stuff & he won't back down.

Oh, he's so missing out. I think MS is way better than DT. Oh well, maybe Capaldi will reel him back in Smiley

I've told him! He watched the announcement show & he said he's going to watch at least PC's first episode to see what he thinks. In the meantime I'm going to keep tuning to Watch if they are showing Matt's eps while I'm round there - I'm determined to wear him down!
