Downloading is how I got them, too. They are well worth the read, especially if you like the show. They are similar enough that they seem faithful to each other, but different enough that they don't spoil each other.

Are you in Georgia then? That's very cool. If you get it you will have to take us some pictures.

Some of the stuff I am reading about what's planned for the next season sounds awesome. I just hope it's faster paced than the first half of S2

Anyone seen the S3 premier? I think reading the comics has dampened it for me somewhat because I keep noticing all the deviations, whereas before I would just pay attention to what was going on onscreen. I enjoyed it well enough but not a lot seemed to happen. I think it needs a rewatch though because I was falling asleep through the last 20 minutes or so.

I really enjoyed it! It was pretty action-packed.

I'm already loving the Michonne character.

And just when I thought TWD couldn't surprise me anymore with either zombie killing or gore, it brings out the zombies-in-SWAT uniforms and the foot amputation. Awesome.

(Haven't read the comics btw)

I enjoyed it and it got over 10m in the ratings. For a cable show that's amazing. I think as long as they don't drag things out to fit the season length like they did with Hershels farm then the season could shape up to be brilliant. If they do half the things in the show that they covered in the comics while at the prison then it will definitely be an interesting few episodes.

The first episode was good but not what I expected. I thought more of the story would come into play but I'm guessing now that the prison stuff is set up it will kick off a bit. I've got ep2 downloaded to watch before sleep tonight.

Really enjoyed eps 1 and 2!

Ep 3 wasn't as good IMO but I'm living Michonne!

This series has far surpassed last year. They spent too much time doing nothing on Hershals farm but this year they've really ramped up the action and it's paying off. The latest episode had me a bit concerned about what would be shown because in the comics the stuff that was happening at this point was pretty sick, but they handled it well. Can't wait for next week, just a shame that it's the last until February.

Yeah I'm enjoying this season a lot more! Part of me wants to read the comics and see how different it is, but equally I don't want to be spoiled for potential future events. Dilemma!

I don't think they would really spoil it. There is enough in the comics that it is obviously the same story but they are different enough that both are their own. People who should be alive aren't and some who should be dead aren't. Some characters don't appear at all in the show or comics. There are loads from the comics that don't appear and Daryl, T-Dog, Oscar, Merle and a few others aren't in the comics. The stuff now with Andrea in Woodbury never happened in the comics and the way Michonne is introduced is different. Hershal losing his leg never happened either. That was meant to be Dale. I've read the first 101 comics but the show still shocks me every episode.

Might give them a try then! Smiley

As for the midseason finale, I thought it was pretty awesome! So refreshing to actually see some blood/injuries in a fight haha

The showrunner has quit. Apparantly there were differences between him and the network. That's the second one now. AMC must be pretty hard to work for. Apparently they are pushing for 22 ep seasons like network TV but he was unhappy with stretching the story out. I'm not sure if that might be a bit long.

I think it could manage. They upped series 2 to 13 episodes and I thought they were pushing it because it dragged out so long and nothing was happening, but with S3 they have 16 episodes and it's pushing ahead at a great pace. If they can keep the momentum then the show could sustain the extra episodes, I'm sure.

I think with The Walking Dead that less is more. S3 has been great but it definitely runs the risk of going stale like it did in S2 with more episodes.

I think 12-16 is perfect, and I'm sad to hear another showrunner leaving as S3 has been excellent so far.

I think S3 is holding up really well and with all the stuff involving the Governer in the comics I don't think it will have a problem telling the story over 16 episodes based on the pace they are going currently, however if they decide to extend that into the next season then we may find it starting to drag out a little. It will be interesting to see what they do regardless of episode count though because after the stuff with the Governer the comics went quiet for about 2 years with very little happening.

16 seems like a good number to me. Not too many, but not too short. Shame the episode number has meant they've lost another grear showrunner though
