PLANET OF EVILby Louis MarksStarring Tom Baker and Elisabeth Sladen.Production Code: 4H

'The vein vanished. This damn planet took it back. It's alive, you know... It watches every move we make.' For an eight year old, this was the most terrifying slice of Who. Now it seems a little ordinary, a simple reworking of classic themes. It is unfortunate that the detailed jungle set is in such sharp contrast to the (cheap) minimalism of the Morestran spaceship. Dunno, I find the ship adequate, though not memorable, and the jungle's absolutely brilliant. A bit of a rehash of Jekyll & Hyde, but none the worse for that.

Nyki's right- it is forgettable. I'm just trying to remember it now. I remember I liked the daring of the way they did the monster. I remember being majorly impressed by the forest sets and fairly entertained.

Today, the Kaled race is ended, consumed in a fire of war. But, from its ashes will rise a new race. The supreme creature. The ultimate conqueror of the universe. The Dalek!
