I agree. As most of you know I havent seen much of DW, but since I have been coming here I have been learning more, especially about the classic series and I would hate the Doctor to suddenly become a woman. It would just seem like a gimmick. And not a good one at that

God yes. The only reason they would ever do it is for gimmick. It wouldnt get taken seriously and I am sure enough of that that I would bet my collection of cyberporn on it

Agreed. I mean, Curse of the Fatal Death was done as comedy. Period. To do it for real would ruin the show in far, far worse ways than a suddenly half-human Doctor.

I've been rewatching War Games and I'm wondering if the plot point that Gaiman mentioned is the different time zones all in one place.  That would be very typical for him after all.

Oh good call. Have we had that since then? Maybe one or two things, like Rose in Father's Day, but I suppose that is quite different to taking people out of lots of different times and putting them all together

It was a thought I've had, I can see how the overlaying of each time zone would have appealed to him when he was younger.  So many of his stories blend two or different type of 'worlds' together, usually a magic or fairytale twist I know, but I'd love to see him take that further and DW would be a great platform for it.  It would also require a big budget with lots of different sets and effects when passing thru the time zones.

I'm really not sure if it's been done like this since War Games, and may be well off the mark, but I thought it worth mentioning.

I dont think it has happened since, but I have this ringing in my ears about 'taking out of different times' but I cant remember who said it ro about what. Off the top of my head though I think we are good to go on this theory

Yep. There was an article released that the Doctor was going to attend 3 weddings. (So it was a bit off) but it said, he will appear in The Wedding of SJA, see Donna get married, and see Martha be married to Mickey.

It got me stupidly excited
