Probably, no definately, my least favourite of all the season openers. New Earth screams of filler so I've no idea why they opened with it. S2 though on the whole I find pretty weak

Filler? In what respect?

I thought the storyline was pretty strong - loved the way they used Cassandra 8)The comedic value in this episode nicely balanced the actual atrocity that was going on behind the squeeky clean surface/scenes.

The lift scene cracks me up every time Cheesy

This was the first episode of Who I've ever watched, so I guess it must have been pretty good to make me come back and keep watching!

I love the lift scenes, first time I watched them it had me in stitches, and I have to admit that little Chip is pretty cute Smiley

Yeah agreed looking back on the series it wasn't the best opener, but hey, it introduced me to the world of Doctor Who, so I can't be too critical. Smiley

Utter tosh.
Rotten episode from a mostly rotten (sadly) series.
I can't bring myself to rewatch this one, I always skip to the next episode (more in that thread....)

I went with a three. I don't love the episode, but there are some quite funny moments and the ending is quite touching. I don't rush to watch it often, but I don't recoil if it comes on either

Another three from me for this one. It was humourous at times but for a series opener it was pretty weak

I gave this one a three. I don't dislike it as such, I just don't like it enough to rate it higher

Having just rewatched this one, I think the main problem with it was it was trying to deal with too many plots without tying them together well enough.  I liked the idea of the Sisters and their experiments, but Cassandra's never been one of my favourite characters, and I really didn't buy her sudden conversion at the end.  And the Face of Boe was just a big red herring.  I gave it a 3.

A 4 from me. I always enjoy RTD's 'light-and-fluffy' episodes. There's nothing hugely substantial or even particularly memorable about this one, but it's one that I always end up really enjoying every time I rewatch it. Not a classic, but fun.

I gave it a four. A bit generous, but the ending with Chip and a younger Cassandra did it for me. Let's just not question the science here. At all.
