Another story I'm not massively keen on, but a brilliant comic turn from Rose and it was good to see Cassandra again. I hate the hugging scene at the end with all the patients though. It looked like 30 extras in a drama class.
I wasn't particularly keen on going back to New Earth either. We saw way too much of Earth and Earth like planets in the first and second series

I really enjoyed the comedic value in this episode - Rose/Cassandra particularly For 10's first real outing I think it did a good job of showing us what kind of man he was...what we could expect of his incarnation..and more so than Christmas invasion helped to move us on from the loss of 9. For me that was KEY to the continued success of the show Doctor - I like a little shop. Cassandra: It's goodbye trampoline, hello blondie! Cassandra (in Chip's body): Ooooh, sweet Lord. I'm a walking doodle!

Um ... isn't The End of the World Nine's second episode where Rose nearly gets burned to a crisp when the sun shields are turned off? Cassandra's first appearance in the show - she made her return in 'New Earth' which was the one set in the hospital and was Ten's first proper episode.

This!! For some reason I adore this episode, I just thinks it's great New Earth is good too. The final scene with Chip telling Cassandra she's so beautiful makes me sad

I don't hate this episode, but its not one of my favourites either. It always seems a bit like filler

I have added a poll to this thread because we are collecting data in order to rank stories. Please could you take a minute and rate this story? You do not need to give a reason for your vote, though obviously feel free to do so as it is a good way of bringing discussion back to older threads

I gave this one a 3. It's one of those stories I care for less the more I watch it. While I think it does a great job of introducing Rose to TARDIS life and shows how even the good guys can bite it too, for me it feels a bit like a short story spread out over too long a time. Maybe it needed more, or just could have done with being shorter. I love though the character of Cassandra and the banter between her and Rose, and the other supporting character, namely the blue alien maintenence worker, Boe and Jabe, who I think even in small roles were brilliantly realised.

This gets a three from me too. There were too many characters introduced but underused. The space station looked a bit naff and I wasn't keen on the overall plot, but I thought characters like Jabe and Cassandra were brilliant and the acting from everyone was excellent.

I quite liked this one. It always seems to get a mixed response but it was a good story with some great characters. It wasn't totally amazing, but it was still a great episode. 4/5 from me

I gave this one a three. I'm always sort of on the fence with it. I don't want to rush off and watch it again any time soon, but I don't seriously dislike it either. My main problem is that it is episode 2, and as the second episode of the revival I think they should have gone with something more adventurous

I quite liked this one - it was vital that the second episode showcased the scope of the new show! An entertaining romp with a great array of aliens!

I love this one and a great turn up from Rose. Criticize the effects all you want, this embodies DW's theme of adventure and meeting new aliens.
