This is one of my favourite stories of all. I love the drama and comedy elements and already within one episode the huge growth of Donna was evident. When she was crying at the end and begging the Doctor to go back you couldnt help but cry with her. Well I couldnt anyway. I think possibly because it took place during an era that interests me I like it more, but I just remember watching for the first time and thinking it was absolutely brilliant.
Except for the c0ckney stall holder. That was just stupid

This is probably my favourite episode of series 4. Love how Donna's character develops, and there are some truly heartbreaking moments towards the end when Donna is crying and when she helps the Doctor 'erupt' the volcano because he can't bring himself to. (Has me very close to tears every time!!) Love the way that the Doctor introduces the TARDIS language translator when Donna tries to speak Latin to the stall guy. Has me giggling! Great script and well filmed

I went with a 5. This is one of the best 'historicals since the show returned and the stuff with Donna and the Doctor in the TARDIS towards the end was written perfectly

Full marks for this one too. Brilliant story, brilliant characters etc. The only downside to it was the really, really awful c0ckney stall holder
