That's a really reasonable price for newly released (or re-released in this case) books these days - I may well kick off my DW novel collection with these  Smiley

I don't know if it is me being all nostalgic, but aren't the old novel covers absolutely beautiful? These are amazing novels. I have them all but just looking at the new introductions is tempting me to part with a fiver Smiley

Why change the name of the Zygon story? If you hadn't read the synopsis you'd think it was something else entirely

This was one of the idiosyncrasies of the early Target releases - they changed the name on a few of the adventures (Doctor Who and the Silurians became Doctor Who and the Cave Monsters, Spearhead from Space became The Auton Invasion). As far as I can see there was no rhyme nor reason to it, and it was only limited to the early releases. One of the possible reasons was to try and create a separate market "niche" for the books, trying to make them distinctive from the TV release.

I've got to say, these are some brilliant stories. In particular, if you've not read The Tenth Planet, then I would strongly recommend it. The novelisation really makes the first regeneration come alive (and clears up some of the plot holes as well).

There was talk a while back when the rereleases were first announced of putting the titles back to match the TV stories, but I guess that idea got quashed.

Interestingly enough when the novelisation of The Silurians was re-released in 1992, the publishers did just that. It has reverted to the original "Cave Monsters" title for the audiobook

Story titles aside, it's a good selection of books for the release.

I'd have to agree. Admittedly I have only read one of them, but if they are anywhere near as good as the on screen stories they will be well worth the money.

I'd imagine they will go up in price near the release of the new batch, like they do with the audios, so you might be best off getting them sooner rather than later Smiley

So I snagged a couple of these in e-book form - I was going to get proper books, but when I went to get DW & the Daleks the book was badly damaged & I was at a point where I had just watched the serial & really want to read it, so I went down the alternate route.

The second one I got was DW & the Crusaders. I was happily reading it when they mentioned Susan leaving to be with David Cameron - not sure why the name change from the episode, but with hindsight it's a little unfortunate. Poor Susan!
