After recovering from my seizure caused by T-D's avatar Cheesy, I can announce that The Evil of the Daleks won 7-5

The final will be a 3 way due to the odd number of stories (21)...

I know it makes it an EVIL final, but more exciting that way, isn't it?  Evil

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THE FINAL

The War Games Vs Tomb of the Cybermen Vs The Evil of the Daleks

The War Games

"All these evils I have fought, while you have done nothing but observe! True, I am guilty of interference. Just as you are guilty of failing to use your great powers to help those in need!"

9 - 14/06/1969 17:15
10 - 21/06/1969 17:15

Plot

The TARDIS arrives on a planet where a race known only as the Aliens have gathered soldiers from a number of different wars in Earth's history, brainwashed them and put them to battle. Their aim is to form an invincible army from the survivors and use this to take over the galaxy.

The War Lord is assisted by a Security Chief and a War Chief, the latter of whom the Doctor quickly recognises as a member of his own race, the Time Lords. The War Chief has provided the Aliens with the time vessels, SIDRATs, that are essential to their scheme; but he secretly plans to double-cross them and seize power for himself.....

VS

The Tomb of the Cybermen

"Well, if we count in Earth terms I suppose I must be about 400... yes, about 450 years old! Yes. Well. Quite..."

First Transmitted:

3 - 16/09/1967 17:50
4 - 23/09/1967 17:50

Plot

The TARDIS arrives on the planet Telos where an Earth archaeological expedition, led by Professor Parry, is attempting to uncover the lost tombs of the Cybermen. With a lot of help from the Doctor the archaeologists enter the tombs. There, one of the party, Klieg, reveals himself and his business partner, Kaftan, to be planning to revive the Cybermen.

VS

The Evil of the Daleks

"Anyone would think that it's a little game, and it's not. People have died. The Daleks are all over, fit to murder the lot of us, and all you can say is that you've had a good night's work. Well, I'm telling you this, we're finished. You're just too callous for me. Anything goes by the board, anything at all. You don't give that much for a living soul except yourself. Just whose side are you on?"

First Transmitted

1 - 20/05/1967 18:00
2 - 27/05/1967 17:50

5 - 17/06/1967 17:45
6 - 24/06/1967 17:45
7 - 01/07/1967 18:25

Plot

The TARDIS has been stolen by antiques dealer Edward Waterfield, who lures the Doctor and Jamie into a trap. They are transported back to Waterfield's own time, 1867, where his daughter Victoria is being held hostage by the Daleks to ensure his cooperation.

Despite my devotion to the Daleks, Tomb Of The Cybermen is the better story (though Daleks kick their arse!) Tongue

Has to be The War Games for me as it's the only one I've seen so far.

The War Games. I love Tomb, but think it's a tiny bit overrated.

The War Games, though I'd be happy enough with any of them winning.

Three fantastic stories, but I'll always vote for Tomb Of The Cybermen.

So sad I couldn't get on to cast my vote but... One of my all time favourite stories and Patrick Troughton is simply amazing. I always thought this story would actually transport pretty well into Nu-Who. A worthy winner Smiley
