I pose to you a dilemma Cheesy

If there was a budget cut and the fans were asked to decide if the series should EITHER cut down to 10 episodes per series OR lose the Christmas special and stay at 13 episodes, what would you choose and why?

...And that question goes to contestant number 3 please. Smiley

Hands off my Xmas Special... I think any budget cuts should firstly be aimed at non-essential services such as The News and everything else. But if we must tighten our belts then let us keep our Xmas special. Its a little yearly treat that has become the focal point of my Xmas.

Do you know something about the oncoming cuts?

Ha no. Im not teasing spoilers or anything. Its just for fun

Though I should add that should you all receive phone calls asking what you would prefer because the budgets have been cut, I accept no blame Smiley

If the budget is cut they should increase the number of episodes, not cut them. Bring back the wobbly sets, the men in rubber suits and the model shots with really obvious strings on all the spaceships! I want my super-advanced alien weapons made from washing-up-liquid boxes and sellotape, and my Pandorica made from an old Cornflakes box!

C'mon people, surely you can all see this is the only sensible way forward!

I actually have a Tardis,  an Adipose, a Dalek & a Pandorica all made out of folded paper - they'd be welcome to use those if things gets really bad!  Tongue

Depends what Moffat can do with the Christmas special. Under RTD Xmas episodes got very very old and samey, hopefully there'll be no more of that. For me having a christmas ep every year means it's no longer "special". The Christmas Invasion had a reason, Voyage of the Damned did manage to feel like a stand-alone event, and obviously the end of time was necessary, but the runaway bride especially was pointless and I'd have preferred there to have been no special that year. (Though it would have meant Donna's re-introduction in series 4 would have been less good, so swings and roundabouts)

I would take the cut in episodes. Ive not liked all the christmas specials, but it is still part of christmas, so id want to keep it. Besides, you can still do a lot with ten eps in the main series (Though I never want to see that cut either)
