Now that we are stuck in the middle of one, taking excitment levels out of the equation, was it a good idea to open on a two parter?
Waiting a week between is nothing new, but to have a cliffhanger in the very first episode seems like torture right now and it only really hit me half way through the episode that after waiting all this time, I now have to wait an extra week for a conclusion.
This doesnt have a bearing on the episode itself, which I think was awesome, but i think part of me wishes the opener was a single episode story

Right there with you Rori - i think its a brilliant way to do it! Most people on here will watch next week but it is Joe Public who needs an excuse to switch on and watch it - this may well be the device to hook those floating viewers in!

I think I would probably be happier with a single parter, but based on the story we have so far been offered I am more than happy to have a two parter open the series. Its been brilliant so far and if it manages to avoid the 'curse of Part 2' then it could end up being one of the best two parters we have had

It honestly doesn't matter if it's a two-parter or not. So I have to wait after seeing a cliffhanger - as if I wouldn't be just as impatient for the next episode if it wasn't the second half of a two-parter!

I thought it was a great way to start the series. The two-parters are nearly always my favourite stories, so to have one right away really feels like we're starting things off with a bang.

I agree with that. Though there've been some awesome singles, I always like it when they give themselves room to elaborate a bit. Then again, in the classic series, I always loved the six-parters (or seven, or eight, or ten, or twelve)

I like the idea of a two parter, just not a two parter after everything that happened in part one. There is alot yet to be resolved, and the wait is killing!
