Who the hell was she? And where did she come from. More to the point, where did she go. Did Amy have some sort of hallucination about the shutter on the door? Isnt the woman who played her quite a big well known actress? I cant see her coming in to do just one line and then never being seen again. There is more to this I am sure. Any ideas?

I wonder if you haven't hit upon something here. She seemed too 'well defined' to be just a random appearance. The problem is, there is so much to deal with from that episode, where do we start Smiley Thank goodness for Sky Plus is all I can say Smiley

Quod BBC:

Day of the Moon introduces us to 'Eye Patch Lady', a mysterious figure we will see again soon... She's played by Frances Barber whose previous credits include Boudica (aka Warrior Queen) which starred Alex Kingston as the eponymous historical leader.

Wasnt there a painting of a woman with an eyepatch in one of the rooms in the orphanage?

Eyepatch lady - wasn't one of those teasers something about someone wandering in from Twin Peaks?  Cool

I'd forgotten that bit too.  Curiouser and curiouser.

See, this seems to go with my original view that she was talking to the girl about Amy... or someone else through the hatch

How does it? She could be talking to anyone. Amy included. Her head just happens to be turned at the point that the subtitle is on the screen, but I think the point is that we don't know who she is talking to or who she is talking about?

Its very bad CGI on that door though!

Just had a thought as I typed. I don't know how many Dwarfers we have on here, but it could be like a 'future echo' and not actually have any relation to the scene its in at all

I love the Red Dwarf theory. That would be awesome and could certainly fit in depending on the story.
