Ok, I'm guessing this fits in here... Been so bored today that I've resorted to clearing out my iTunes this evening and came across all my musicals music.
Any other fans of musicals out there? What are your favourite ones?

Um ... well probably my all time fave is The Sound of Music - don't know why as I never listen to the songs in isolation from the film & I rarely watch it these days but it was the one from my youth I guess. I have a very firm opinion that if they ever remake this film I am leaving the planet (yes I actually have a list of films that I never want to see remade - see what all this remake/reboot madness is doing to people Hollywood!!! ) I also - thanks to brainwashing by my mother a die hard Cliff fan - have soft spots for Summer Holiday & The Young Ones (don't tell her I said that!) I can watch most musicals happily enough. The only ones I remember seeing on stage are Joseph, Grease, The Lion King & We Will Rock You.

Haha, oh I forgot about the Sound of Music, love that one! Agree would be a terrible remake! One they would most definitely ruin!

It's not just a case of ruin - for me Julie Andrews is Maria. Can't see anyone else in that role in a film version (stage is different). It would take someone truly amazing I think.

A HP remake is unthinkable. Like I said I have a list - but maybe that's another thread

I was at the first fully public performance of Evita (the night after after the invitation-only opening) which was awesome. Other favourites I've seen include Superstar, Hair, Joseph, A Little Night Music and (most of all) The Rocky Horror Show (which I attended one time as the only bearded Frank N Furter in the house).

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Oliver (the Mark Lester version), and Annie (the Aiden Quinn version, though the remake was pretty good) are among some of my faves.
Also have a soft spot for Defying Gravity from Wicked.
There are a few more, but those are the only one's I can think of right now
