Now in glorious technicolour!
The Doctor Who classic story tournament presents: The Third Doctor!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here are the rules.

- Please put votes in BOLD so they are easier to count
- If you would like to change your vote, make a new post announcing your change. Do not edit your original post.
- Vote changes will not be allowed after Round 2.
- Iceman put this rule in effect because it will add another difficult dimension and that keeps people from flip flopping too much. So get all your vote changing out in the first 2 rounds.
- In the event of a tie, a 1 hour extension will be given and someone who has not voted already will vote. Only the first vote within that hour time period counts. If 2 or more people vote, all the votes but the first one will be null and void. If no one votes within the hour then I will flip a coin.

If you have questions please pm me with them. I hope you enjoy this tournament! The winners of each round will be included in this post with links to each daily match and the first match will be in the post below.

Round 1
Battle 01

Spearhead from Space Vs Inferno

Spearhead from Space

"We deal with the odd... the unexplained. Anything on Earth... or beyond."

VS

Inferno

First Transmitted

Professor Stahlman dismisses the concerns of the project's Executive Director Sir Keith Gold and exceeds all safety margins in order to expedite the work.
Soon however the drill head starts to leak an oily green liquid that transforms those who touch it into vicious primeval creatures with a craving for heat. The Doctor is accidentally transported by the partially-repaired TARDIS control console into a parallel universe where England is ruled by a military dictatorship....

Ouch, thats a b!tch to start with. Two of my favourite Pertwees, but for the sheer amazingness of Nick Courtney and Caroline John in their roles,

Inferno gets it

Yes, two of the best up against one another.  Inferno, if only because it has room for more awesomeness.

Tough one. I love Spearhead From Space, really starts the Pertwee era off with a bang. Got to vote for Inferno though, if nothing else for the seriously scary eyepatched Brigadier Brigade Leader.

First Transmitted:

Plot

The Doctor and Jo visit the Master in his high-security prison on an island off the south coast of England and hear from the governor, Colonel Trenchard, that ships have been mysteriously disappearing at sea.

Investigating, the Doctor learns from Captain Hart, commander of a nearby Naval base, that the sinkings have centred around an abandoned sea fort. He and Jo then visit the fort and are attacked by what one of the men there terms a Sea Devil - an amphibious breed of the prehistoric creatures encountered by the Doctor shortly after his exile to Earth....

He reactivates it using a radio telescope and uses his hypnotic abilities to take control of a small plastics firm run by the Farrel family, where he organises the production of deadly Auton dolls, chairs and daffodils....

Terror of the Autons. Pretty close to Who-perfection (I'm not sure there is another story that gives me more pleasure - and its got Harry Towb being eaten by a plastic chair)

Now and then, every once in a very long while, every day in a million days, when the wind stands fair and The Doctor comes to call, everybody lives.
