He is also vain, ego-centric and quite mad

I think we've had a brilliant guest performance from the very watchable Hugh Bonnerville. I think it was Tom Baker who once said "Guest stars don't come on and act, the roll up and 'do a turn'". I thought it was a great appearance and I loved it Smiley

I agree. He did a brilliant job. I must admit I was unsure of his casting but he played it brilliantly throughout

He was brilliant! He managed to play the role without overacting it or becoming to 'piratey' and he was easily likeable to boot. I'd like to see him again

He really had a glint in his eye didn't he. It shows the benefit of getting really good actors (Mark Shepperd last week, Hugh B this week)

I thought he was great - but then I could be a bit biased because I pretty much love him in everything I've ever seen him in  Smiley

He seems to have gone over pretty well with everyone. I had a sneak peak on Twitter earlier and everyone loved the character

Is it all in my head, or during the storm did he shout Alons-y at Amy & Rory??!!

Hugh was excellent, no doubt there.

Although I knew some time back he was in it, I completely forgot it was him, with the beard and everything.  I think he was great.

What I find most impressive is that he grew his own beard. No stick on fluff like Matt had last week Tongue

If that was only a few weeks growth that's seriously impressive! I haven't shaved since the end of panto season last Christmas and my beard still doesn't look as good as his!

But even apart from that, he was wonderful. Great bit of casting. It was a very well-written part that would've been a gift for any decent actor, but he really grabbed hold of it and made it his own. Great performance.

I agree with all of the above. He gave a wonderful performance and was a joy to watch. He gave the character so much heart Smiley

He has said he would love to come back and the audience seem to have taken to him really well, so perhaps another appearance is a good possibility. The finale maybe?

I hadnt heard that. It would sure be cool to see him make a return. Not sure I'd be bothered about the rest of his crew though, or the kid
