The Mind Robber is another one of my favourites. It mixes fatasy and sci fi brilliantly and the land of fiction is realised in such an awesome way. The characters that it introduces and the twists and turns in the plot work really well and they even manage to explain away Jamie II in a fitting and convincing way. The opening episode is so totally random ad nonsensical but I love it anyways, and anything that got The Dominators cut down an episode is good in my book Tongue It might also have a nice link in it to NuWho if the Minotaur really does show up in Series 6 as rumoured. Any other fans around here?

The Mind Robber is a wonderful story. Certainly one of the strangest in the history of the show - and one they'd probably never get away with nowadays - but a great idea and brilliantly explored and realised over the five episodes.
And Frazer Hines certainly chose a good time to be ill - this is probably the only story of his time in the show where they could just change the actor for an episode and still have it make perfect sense. (or, at least, as much sense as anything in this story makes!)

I love this story. I think Dame Roger is right, it isnt something that would probably work these days, but in its time it was brilliant and it is so easy to watch. Just a good lighthearted story that draws you in

I agree. It probably wouldnt go over too well these days, but that's probably because they would feel the need to fill it with explosions and action rather than just allowing a good story to play out

I love this.  Probably the second strangest ever (after Ghost Light) and huge fun.  I loved the rather sloanie version of Rapunzel.

I'm so glad that Doctor Who got a chance to do one of those "crazy" episodes that involve strange leaps of logic and connection and out-of-place-ness (thinks of Kinda and the inside of Tegan's mind in Snakedance). I love how meta this story is and it made my jaw drop, literally, when the TARDIS broke apart. Definitely original and wonderful.

Today, the Kaled race is ended, consumed in a fire of war. But, from its ashes will rise a new race. The supreme creature. The ultimate conqueror of the universe. The Dalek!
