My first thought, probably for obvious reasons, was that we will be going back to the Library. Do you think this is related to that? Or maybe a hint that we are nearing the end of Rivers timeline or something? Or do you think its something completely different? It has to mean something significant.

Yea I was thinking the Library too. I suppose it could mean anything but I really hope its not meaning the end of River

It could be the Library or the Byzantium.  Then again, it could be something totally different.  Maybe the "river" is even a red herring, though I doubt it.

My thought was that it was going back to the Forest on the Byzantium, surely it's implying River

(You missed out "only" - it is "The only water in the forest is the river")

Well, my first thought was the water reference...

Do you remember the Moff saying that "Pond" and "River" had a connection? As in there was a reason for them both being watery? Cause I do, no idea where from though...

Anyway, is there a chance it references Amy and Rory? (The Ponds)

Oh and my favourite old duckpond, that isn't a duckpond, because there are no ducks...

There is also the option that at some point they will find themselves in a situation where there are mirages or hallucinations etc disguised as water, or an alien race or something along those lines, pretending to be water or trying to trap them, or raindrops or well you hopefully get my rambling tired drift

River Song: Everyone knows that everyone dies. And nobody knows it like the doctor. But I do think that all the skies in all the worlds might just turn dark, if he ever accepts it.

Yeah Beccas right missed the Only out but Pond and River being related to the forrest in the library or even on the ship I find must be related some how, as soon as I heard River I automatically thought River Song and Idris obviously knows about the future so she was trying to tell the Doctor something about who River is

Pond and River are definitely connected somehow. Giving Amy that surname and the Doctor explicitly lumping the two together as the Ponds (as far back as The Big Bang) must be a foreshadowing of something significant

Note that 'The only water in the forest' is also mentioned in The Brilliant Book 2011  Afro

This has been niggling at me for a while now. It was one of the spoilers in the big book too if I remember rightly. I would say that it is surely something to do with River but I don't think it is related to the Library. It probably won't be addressed until the finale though. At least we didnt get 'hatch woman' showing up this week

I thought Moffat said that 'River' and 'Pond' were just a coincidence, no watery theme intended.  Of course he could be lying.   Cool

The only thing that popped into my head for "forest" was the library, or "Forest of the Dead", as the Vashta Nerada referred to all the trees from their world that were made into books.

I would think the Doctor would have recognized that reference, even if he didn't understand what Idris was trying to tell him, and yet he didn't react at all.   Huh?
